  1. Does anyone want/need a $5 code for UO? It expires today.
  2. Oooh the Climate Pledge Arena is absolutely gorgeous! I wanted to see her in an arena for once. Outdoor venues have never been my fave, especially when it comes to lighting. Assuming this tour is TVR focused, I’m gonna need the title track performed for the first time in 25 years. Can’t wait to compare notes.
  3. Back from vacation! She’s not coming to Las Vegas or Denver!!! Who does she think she is?! So I got tickets to Irvine instead. Are you going boo?
  4. It’s Heaven sent. Her best work in a long time. I’d honestly rank it at #5 or #6 in her catalog for me. For a legacy act to come back with such a cohesive, fresh body of work that has replay value isn’t always the case. Mariah did that.
  5. The case for Nicki is not the same as the case for other black folks/POC who have never been welcome, or treated fairly among their white counterparts in mainstream spaces (ie: Macklemore besting Kendrick Lamar). Nicki has enjoyed mainstream acceptance in female rap for a decade, unchallenged. The problem: Nicki treats people like garbage and those same people are voters. There have been many years she was nominated by the rap committees and they still didn’t vote for her. It should be about quality and all that stuff, but you need a good rapport with your peers because at the end of the day, you’re campaigning for their vote. It’s like an election. She just isn’t likable and doesn’t inspire people to vote for her. They also know she’s desperate for a win, and the best way to stick it to narcissist is to keep them from getting what they want. This is my theory and observation. The GRAMMYs are as political as any other non-fan voted show. So Nicki wasn’t lying when she said they don’t want her to win. The question she has to ask herself is why.
  6. Janet Jackson has three consecutive #1 movies at the domestic box office, all of which she is the main character or credited in the upper echelon in an ensemble cast. Nutty Professor 2: The Klumps is her highest grossing film with $166,339,890 WW, and she’s in almost every scene with Eddie’s many different characters. Unfortunately, none of her movies are good even though Poetic Justice is a hood classic.
  7. Thanks bb. They take advantage of us all the time. I never feel bad.
  8. You’re not doing it right. Call customer service to SPEAK. I’m black AF and I put on my gay Karen voice real quick. You need a sob story and you need to ask for a supervisor if you’re not getting your way. I’ve gotten full refunds (without shipping anything back) that I didn’t deserve before — because, **** Amazon. They make more off me with Prime and all my purchases than any “free” item will ever suffice. “I’m going out of town tomorrow, this was a birthday gift! How am I supposed to return something when the issue is your fault?! I’m devastated. This was a gift that I’d already promised.” Also, you don’t have a printer or transportation. You’re not taking Uber to the library and post office. Like, y’all need to be more creative. They scam us all the time, so it’s only natural to fight these corporations with fire. They deserve it. That’s just a few of my greatest hits. PM for more.
  9. If she felt that way, she would’ve pulled a Silk Sonic in that category. It’s just talking points. She obviously isn’t handing the trophy over when she collects. I’m sure she’s a fan, but this narrative that she’s prefer Beyoncé over herself needs to end. And if you REALLY want me to keep it a buck, I think she just says that to avoid backlash. She’s just as hungry as everyone else.
  10. The former two, yes. Eminem, I’m not sure.
  11. Can MLIYL be anything other than translucent navy blue? It could get really tacky if they go too left field. The cover is gorgeous, they don’t need to do much. The other more colorful albums deserve interesting mock-ups tho. Anxious to see how they handle Whitney!
  12. I have Home for Christmas on cranberry vinyl. I’m going to take solace in that not everyone has that. How many copies of NSA? Are you in the Christmas spirit?
  13. This loser compared human beings to a trend. She can have an auditorium seat next to her looney brother. I can’t stand the hypocrisy of “spreading love” to ONLY those who share your bigoted ideology. You’re all about “FAMILY VALUES,” but you’ll vote for a brain dead, abusive, pro-life-when-it’s-personally-convenient buffoon before you’d vote for a well-respected pastor simply because he’s not a grifter parroting white supremacist talking points and not trying to turn back the clock to 1950 when you didn’t have to tolerate the others. Raggedy *****. I’m sure her films will attract her target audience:
  14. It’ll likely win Best Music Film, but it’s weird she’s won AOTY three times and not SOTY once, since she’s touted as a songwriter. I wonder if she’d trade one of those AOTYs for a SOTY, and which album she’d take the loss on. I’m not a big fan, but I’ll concede she should’ve won SOTY by now. ATW10 (arguably her most celebrated songwriting effort) is her biggest chance. If she can’t win with that, idk.
  15. Baybeeee the way you painted the picture of my perfect life (except I’d have happy tears for being so wealthy). But yes to this. Sade will forever be synonymous with expensive taste.
