She created a fashion line with Shein

They're clowning her but Glorilla just did a collab with them last month. It's a year long partnership so I'm sure the check is big

  • I love how after years of disappointments and lies some fans still get angry at someone questioning this girl's career choices   and please stop pushing this "you want her to do generic pop

Cardi B did a Shein collab last year and her fans were hating on it too. Normani has totally disappeared from the music landscape. Honestly fans should be happy that she has any type of visible collab until she releases music again

I mentioned that a while ago too. They haven't mentioned anything she has done in months now so I assume she's probably trying to get off the label and it's just taking a while or she's already off and has to record and re-start the process again

That "Normani has parted ways with RCA" headline is going to hit like crack.

I can't remember the last time that label acknowledged her. They haven't reposted anything she's done recently like the magazine cover and they usually do for their artists. I hope she's on her way out of there.

Yeah, it seems that it's a wrap.

The pro is that this RCA nightmare finally seems like it'll be in the rearview.

The con being it's like a car-crash we've all been watching in slow-mo. We all know the end result, but it's been painfully slow and robbing her/us of moments outside of the car. The worst almost has to happen before the bounceback can occur. The ridiculous pace makes said bounceback harder than it needs to be.

Making an educated guess, it looks like Mani is:

* Getting off RCA

* Upping her brand ante: pretty much everything she's done over the last year+ has been brand deals. IMO, she has to keep the $ coming in and also make the connections for future opportunities.

* Positioning Herself as Multifaceted "Celeb" Rather Than Just an Artist: our girl does a lot of talk about perfectionism etc. Blah. The main way to sustain in such an unstable music biz these days is to do all the things. The brand deals, the movies, the TV gigs, the influencer-like collabs. All of this will keep her paid and present in ways that music (alone) cannot rival.

The girls may be kii'ing at the SHEIN deal. And, to a degree, I get it. On one hand, it's a check (and probably a big one). On the other hand, it's "SHEIN" and contextually (given the sloppiness of Mani's edit/public perception), it's less about the bag and more about the calibre of what she's seen to be aligning with, and the easy perception of this from the shady folk is: cheap.

That said, I think it's a respectable bag, and I'm sure both sides have done their due diligence to know that the audience alignment is there (i.e. young women seeking clothes at an affordable price). Plus, and it's something I don't think some fans (and deffo not the haters) are considering, is that sis may well be stacking her bags to pour back into her....music.

Assuming she's off RCA, I could see one of two scenarios.

She "takes control" and goes indie. Funding her ish and never being in a position to be a slave to the label system (but making peace with the fact that it means letting go of the MPG dream). OR, she shops another major deal (i.e. rejoins Tunji at Def Jam?) but structures it as a "partnership" in such a way that she's effectively signed to herself, largely funds her own ish, and uses them for distribution/label services. Think Bey/Parkwood/Columbia or Rih/Westbury Road/Def Jam. It's kind of the way the industry at large is moving in general.

She could also sign with like a Gamma, which feels like a middle-ground between both approaches (look 'em up!)

Overall...

Because of the damage done on her journey thus far, I think she legit does need to reprogram her perspective and goals. Becoming the next Bey or Rih may not be on the table, given how behind the curve she is, given factors arguably out of her control. But that's ok. As the likes of Tinashe have shown, "success" is still available. It just may look... different. And, to Mani's benefit, I think she can even one-up the Tinashe's and folk in that lane, because she has the ability to occupy more spaces (fashion, TV, movies etc alongside music).

At the same time, time itself is of the essence. Her situation is beyond a joke at this point, so she really needs to kick 2026 off with a bang. If even it's just the "I've left RCA", "secret new album is finished", signed with xyz deal" headlines. The nothingy promises of the last two years need to stop. It's way more harmful than helpful. I get that she a) will inevitably be asked ish about music and b`) has to keep fans "excited". But no, Speak/tease when you unquestionably know what's coming. Because, at this point, the laundry list of unkept promises (even if out of her control) look crazy sans context. If she's coming to spill about her situation ala JoJo once "free", then fine. But if she wants to keep up the PC/protect my industry standing antics (rather than call anyone out), then she needs to ensure her career moves (and timeliness of them) do the talking instead.

I mean didn't Miley get similar treatment on RCA, then when she moved to Universal it was like a 360.

If she indeed has moved to Island Records. I can see them only taking her if she was to do pop. Since at this current time their roster has been 70% Pop with some rap artists here and there.

Unless they want an R&B artist to break the market for them. I mean it would make sense as to why she has been reiterating this talk of new lane she's taking and that she's revisiting her roots. Also the choreographer has mentioned him doing pop. So we shall see.

when she said she was stepping into a more fearless era in her life, i think she meant no longer being fearful of what other people might think of her endeavors. i hate that some fans think that music is supposed to consume her entire being and that it's the only avenue that she will be successful in.

At this point I just want a clear answer as to why we didn't didn't get the visuals like that all I wanna know

Is RCA really the issue here??

It's not to the only issue but it's the biggest one IMO.

I think they were scrapped just like the Fair video. The last time she mentioned that the visuals were still coming was on the Jennifer Hudson Show. She also shouted out RCA during this interview. Coincidently, the spirit tunnel video was also the last post of hers RCA interacted with. I think something changed after this point.

Do i believe her?? Well no... lol. I am cautiously optimistic though. She might have to finish the year technically on RCA as apart of her contract so we will see

So. . . back to where we started? GOTCHA

My thing is…..

Is she really going to drop in 2026? If so, can it be at the top of the year. I'm sorry I don't want another Fair where we waited until March.

i heard she's gonna be dancing on dwts tonight, tune in y'all!

Jordan brought out her. Also the best dance of the night and best freestyle in years.

Her 20 seconds in Jordan's freestyle being better than her own freestyle :deadbanana2: Val you're never seeing heaven.

Val sabotaged Normani and Zendaya like…he made it up though with some of his later partners. Even the Alix Earle one tonight was decently choreographed, Normani needed something more like that but also Jordan level with all those flips and stunts.

ANYWAYS, I come bearing the actual important thing from the Normani DWTS appearance. Lydia booked this for Normani and it's been cooking since week 3.

Given the timing with the Shein collab and Normani hitting red carpets again, it's actually looking like Normani is getting out of the dungeon for 2026. So Lydia is getting Normani's name back out there with all these loud random side quests.

So something is clearly coming soon, right? She's doing a bit much out of the blue.

The way the promo got 10x more random and more mainstream since you posted this. You had the tea :deadbanana4:

after Lauren got voted off i would guess.

Performance with Jordan Chiles on Dancing with the Stars last night:

I really don't understand the backlash regarding the Shein collab :deadbanana: Isn't she supposed to make money any way she can?

Could be completely delulu but I think that one user was right where it's giving - she's probably getting off that label or that contract is about to expire. I think she'll either sign elsewhere or do a distro deal with a major.

I also think she'll either buy back the masters / visuals and when she announces her new moves in music she'll probably drop the dopamine visuals as a thank you to the fans who have been wondering. Obv it won't do anything commercially but even just having the visual catalogue she deserves would be amazing for her, and us lol.

watch this space I bet it's gonna happen

off topic a bit but it still sends me that the only festival she was booked for this era got cancelled. our luck as a fanbase is so catastrophically bad that all you can do is laugh at this point :bibliahh:
