I really don't understand the backlash regarding the Shein collab :deadbanana: Isn't she supposed to make money any way she can?

I don't think the backlash would have been as bad if she were active musically, but I still don't understand it. If a fashion girlie like Cardi can have a Shein collab, Normani is fine.

And honestly people can't claim they don't care about her and that her moment passed, yet still jump to comment on the few moves she makes. That level of attention just proves some people are still invested.

  • I love how after years of disappointments and lies some fans still get angry at someone questioning this girl's career choices   and please stop pushing this "you want her to do generic pop

I'm sorry but I can't stand that flip flop flipping ass bxtch Zach.   Any who. The hype was dead they said. Nobody cared they said. The engagement will never be like it was with Motivation t

Could be completely delulu but I think that one user was right where it's giving - she's probably getting off that label or that contract is about to expire. I think she'll either sign elsewhere or do a distro deal with a major.

I also think she'll either buy back the masters / visuals and when she announces her new moves in music she'll probably drop the dopamine visuals as a thank you to the fans who have been wondering. Obv it won't do anything commercially but even just having the visual catalogue she deserves would be amazing for her, and us lol.

watch this space I bet it's gonna happen

Something like this seems to be taking place. If she just ends up still at RCA, that would genuinely be surprising.

The only angle I could think of is because Doja Cat underperformed two eras back to back, RCA might be open to giving another girl a chance.

Also considering Victoria hasn't dropped yet (she's on RCA), no record label has an answer for Kehlani's success with Folded. RCA could be like "wait we have Normani, let's push her out there for a bit and see what we get". :coffee2:

I would be shook though if she stayed with them after all of this however If she did I doubt it would have been her choice lol

I'm still sad about the candypaint music video like just think the dancers the makeup artist the production crew and choreographers the stylist haven't seen their hard work get the praise it deserves like I just can't understand why a label would shelve a already shot and paid music video ok the song didn't chart where you wanted to but the MV could still help especially to a visual artist

I wonder if she didn't want them out?

That's the thing.

I have a hunch that her situation is 70% label issues and 30% her.

It goes without saying that something big and off is at play label-side (hopefully in the rearview now that she's seemingly off RCA), but I cannot conceive a world where they would not have wanted/been ok with her dropping the videos alongside the album. Whether they funded them or she self-funded them, even the most hands-off/uncaring label surely wouldn't be against her dropping visuals. Especially in this era of virality, when anything can technically take off (and thus they can suddenly spring to action and start pushing the release/her).

I can see a scenario where either a) she, per her own words, was being a "perfectionist" and received no pressure from the label because of their minimal interest anyway. Or b) there was some kind of stand-off over something, and the videos have been benched or vaulted for good. Whatever the case, the window has passed.

There's a part of me that likes the idea of dropping the video/s as a "thank you" / palette cleanser. But there's a part of me that feels it will only invite more "she's so late/lazy" critique (no matter how good they are), so it would best to save the slay for whatever new material is incoming for 2026.

Sidebar: is she still managed by Lydia? Not there's any explicit reason to think she's not, but noticing that Lydia hasn't posted much about Mani since the album dropped. Then again, she doesn't post on IG much at all.

Wasn't Mani's post-Brandon setup some kind of joint management situation?

Yes, Lydia is still in the picture.

She was briefly managed by the same management as Charli XCX, Troye Sivan but they seemed to have parted ways shortly after Dopamine's release last year.

Interesting!

Was that Brandon Creed?

I know when Lydia was announced, it was presented as Lydia and Brandon together.

I still say release them as a solo artist Normani needs more visuals to her discography so people can see her talent

I think making that assumption is what got her album 2,000 pure sales. Thinking Twitter noise means actual interest. This leads to not actually doing the ground work of building and cultivating a strong fanbase.  There's nothing stopping Normani but herself …she could go on intagram …YouTube….tik tok. She could sing acoustic versions of her songs…create dances. There are artists with way more success than her who are still doing all of those things. Don't let twitter hype give you guys a false sense of reality

The fact that you're here this much kind of proves the point. Is Camila really that dull that you're keeping tabs on someone who's barely even active? It's 2025, surely we're not still doing this. It's always Normani that y'all do this with, and never the girls who are supposed to be racism rehab's contemporaries.

Twitter hype or hate aside, Normani still has interest. There's plenty she could do, sure, but acting like no one cares while you're always popping up with the same tired takes about her that no one asked for doesn't really track.

I don't know what Camila has to do with Normani career?? lol but ok

Anyways back to the topic Normani…Doing these random things from SHEIN to DWTS and then posting a couple of pics on Instagram and then disappearing for 3 months is gonna get the same results. When celebrities start hiding there likes on instagram it's a bad sign which is why I said earlier she has to cultivate her fanbase. Normani has been given many opportunities…and it's what you do with those opportunities that will make or break you. Putting the blame on Label…managers etc is a cop out.

The point is that you should focus on whatever that girl has going on and stop concern trolling about Normani. I couldn't tell you what Camila is up to but you're up to date on Normani to the point that you're monitoring her instagram. You pop up every few months with ill-intentioned input no one cares for because of one sided stan beef from the Obama administration. Again, it's 2025… move along.

Camila …Obama?? I have no clue what your talking about!

Anyways

Well let see if Normani we'll start connecting with her fans. I don't know about music but maybe she can at least do what Cira did which is kinda transition into other aspects of entertainment. But for her to get good brand deals she has to work on social media

You can play dumb all you want. You're a Camila fan, yet your entire comment history is parked in the Normani base. Every time you show up it's the same routine, backhanded digs dressed up as fake concern. Suggesting she should pivot into other aspects of entertainment because you don't know about music and expecting anyone to take that as good faith is ridiculous. I'm not going to continue the back and forth with you, but your intentions are obvious.

This is a Normani forum …bringing up other artists and starting fights is strange.
I'm gonna keep focused on Normani and the things she needs to focus on in her music career. And maybe she's transitioning if she no longer wants to do music. This industry is tough

NFL collection with Amazon

Normani staying linked with NFL is good. Maybe she gets a thanksgiving halftime show eventually then superbowl one day.

This is a smart branding partner for a musician given that superbowl platform literally has revamped or saved careers. She's nowhere close to that but this is just a good thing to have.

Normani is slowly building what looks like a rollout here. If she left her record label she should do a big interview with Call Her Daddy about it to start 2026 (if her next single is pop leaning this is the right audience to tap into).

This is her second NFL gig. She did the official season kickoff commercial with them too. A superbowl commercial would be amazing
