  1. Wow she really never misses with 2nd singles huh All three of them arguably being Top 10 songs in her discography. I guess I'd go Drivers License, The Cure, Good 4 U.
  2. The fact that it took less than an hour between when this announcement was posted and when someone commented with blatant antisemitism has me skeptical that this forum's user base is capable of adhering to this, but I guess I'll remain cautiously optimistic
  3. Expectations having the smallest percentage drop of any of the non-prerelease songs, EXACTLY
  4. Instantly WAY better than Drop Dead. I'm only on my second listen but it's very quickly becoming a contender for a discography highlight to me.
  5. Stunning Really hope she's able to carry this momentum into long-term commercial success because she really has both the vocal and songwriting talent for a big career.
  6. Discovered her because of a tweet about Sever The Blight that came across my feed and this whole album is kinda incredible?? The pure joy flowing through my body when listening to Head, Shoulders, Knees and Ankles
  7. The fact that being in sub-power rotation on ONE published station in the US is enough to make the Top 50 now... oh it's BAD bad
  8. Assuming RCA isn't literally paying money to stations (which I think is still illegal?), what could they have possibly promised to stations to get them to make a song they clearly hated playing go #1
  9. Nice To Meet You actually breaking the negative bullet record would be fun and would kinda make the fraudulent #1 worth it.
  10. I know that they're really just doing it for engagement, but I find TOTC's Day 1 tweets about big debuts to be so odd. "Aperture is expected to debut at #1 with a 50 point lead based on first day numbers!!.... that are very obviously not going to hold for the rest of the week"
  11. I'm guessing it's not the first with the way that pop radio is increasingly falling out of line with actual streaming hits, but how many other songs before Nice To Meet You weren't in the Top 200 of US Spotify at the time they went #1 on pop radio?
  12. Really great ballad. Listened to a few of her most streamed songs afterwards and Back To Blonde is excellent

Her 20 seconds in Jordan's freestyle being better than her own freestyle Val you're never seeing heaven.
  14. As someone who was against overly restrictive recurrent rules in the past, this is absolutely a necessary and welcome change. I get the argument that "the chart should reflect what's popular, even if that's Lose Control in its 113th week", but I think that's an oversimplification that doesn't recognize the changing ways that music is being consumed nowadays. Between radio wanting to hold onto older songs more than ever before and streaming becoming more dependent on playlisting and autoplay than ever before, I think it's become misleading to suggest that a song with 80+ weeks on the chart is truly still one of the Top 25 most popular songs of the week simply because it's fallen into the type of passive consumption that's fuelling those long runs today. I think these rules will go a long way in helping ensure that the Hot 100 feels like a ranking of what songs are actually hits right now (there's a reason it's called the Hot 100, not the Most Consumed 100!)
  15. I honestly found Opalite to be more instant than Ophelia, so not surprised radio is latching onto both songs. It also seems to be getting a fair bit of traction on social media. I could see them basically being even in US streaming in a few days/weeks from now.
  16. Incredibly solid debut I do think the first half of the album is appreciably better than the second half, but the second half is still an enjoyable listen. Really excited to see where her solo career goes and how she hones in on her sound even more.
  17. Desperately need Billboard to surprise announce a new 10/104 recurrency rule tomorrow and kick Lose Control OUT of here.
  18. It's fine, but at least half of self-titled is better. Angel with a proper bridge or He Like That would have both been way better lead singles.
  19. I don't really feel like dragging out this conversation, but if we agree she was deeply traumatized, we can hopefully also agree that nobody online is in a position to judge how she protects herself from that trauma. The onus should be on interviewers to stop bringing up Camila in contexts that have nothing to do with her, not on Lauren to have a perfect facial and verbal response ready within milliseconds of hearing a question she wasn't expecting that both protects her own emotional state and looks "friendly enough" for what the Internet wants (and spoiler alert: no amount of friendliness would satisfy the people dragging her online right now unless she expressed total adoration and gratitude for Camila, which would instantly activate all the Camren shippers).
  20. Probably true for Ally, but I don't think this is the right explanation for Lauren's behaviour. She went through a traumatizing period of time in 5H when she was struggling with her sexuality while an extremely vocal and invasive part of their fanbase was essentially trying to out her in the form of shipping her with Camila. She likely knows that if she gives any public compliment to Camila, those people will suddenly come out of the woodwork. I don't like to overuse the word "triggering", but in this case, it would literally be a trigger for her if that were to happen. She's in a lose-lose because if she's friendly about Camila, the Camren shippers will go feral, but if she's neutral about her like in this clip, she gets accused of being bitter and a ***** But she's already said in past interviews that the girls have collectively healed and moved on from the drama around the split, so I don't think this is about her trying to ice out Camila as a grudge for her leaving.
  21. It's definitely BMOT. If you asked 1000 random people on the street to name one Britney song, at least like 700 of them will say "hit me baby one more time". Oops I Did It Again is probably also above Toxic in terms of general public recognition.

    Nope, it's this
  23. Ok wow they kinda devoured here
  24. They just cleaned up their TikTok page to remove all the old fan Musical.ly videos. There were dozens of them, so I'm really finding it hard to believe someone went through the trouble of doing that if there are no plans for the account to keep being used beyond this Jonas Brothers performance
