so… what now?

Nothing. She is obviously shelved. I've been telling you guys that. Also, at this point  she and the label waited for nothing. I think she should just release another album and move forward. We're not getting the mv or the performances. It's better to just move on and get some new  music.  Also, I think her budget has been greatly reduced and you know how she likes expensive videos and performances.

  • They're aren't going to let this be all you get a listen to lol. This team is very aware. Let them just warm it up.

  • I love how after years of disappointments and lies some fans still get angry at someone questioning this girl's career choices   and please stop pushing this "you want her to do generic pop

I'm sorry but I can't stand that flip flop flipping ass bxtch Zach.   Any who. The hype was dead they said. Nobody cared they said. The engagement will never be like it was with Motivation t

She said she only listens to worship music. She is not into rap worship music yet, she will tho!

Let's schedule her a studio session with Lecrae  :sistrens:

I'm watching the Ciara interview podcast vibe lol. Ciara definitely alluded to the fact that there's some good things shifting behind the scenes for Normani. She talks about big things on the way as she has the inside scoop.

tbh it's giving the contract is up soon or things are already shifting that just haven't gone public yet. She's also referring to dopamine as her "first album" as in album #2 pending perhaps? Also is talking about motivation in more grateful terms and talks more about being comfortable giving pop. It giving the second album is more crossover

I remain optimistic. However, I wish she would just save these appearances for when she's ready to roll something out, as opposed to alluding to things she can't talk about yet. Who cares about cheesecake and seafood boils?

Also, the contrast between Ciara and Normani's respective passion and work ethic is sooo stark. It was obvious before but their conversation really made it more apparent lol. I wonder if Normani would truly "bet on herself" if she were independent, in the same way Ciara does.

Love her but she's so insufferable lol. She's been saying the exact same thing in interviews for years now. She's become an increasingly vapid individual over the years

She just feels so hallowed and empty in the music realm of her life, it's like she was thrusted into it and not like she wants it anymore. I honestly chunk it up to everything that goes on behind the scenes that takes a toll on her mental health.

yeah, and that 5h's never ending promo and tour run (2013-2017) probably burnt out all 5 members in the group. she kinda talked about it in the apple music interview. we'll never know the true depths of what those ladies went through in that group, i always try to keep that in mind. i feel like she's still making music rn though, hopefully rca will do better for the n2 era.

Sigh it just really breaks my heart when didn't get a chance to look at the fair and candy paint music videos

This is probably the most positive hot take from that interview.

The most negative is that she's a liar and shelved.

Hopefully we get something top of next year (Jan, Feb the latest). If they (her team and/or label) are serious about Normani then they would start the year on a high and not wait around for the big names to start dropping.

I just think if she's shelved then why bother you now ? I feel like even didn't people say Lydia was following people from island or def jam or something ? A lot of the times when stuff shifts behind the scenes they can't speak on it until after however I could just be delulu

she rly hates us lol it makes me sad! that new interview was the same ol **** as usual and "i don't wanna give too much away" i cannot believe it all turned out like this it is just soo depressing i don't have it in me to care anymore

As an artist who's always pushing boundaries, what kinds of risks or new directions excite you most right now?

I feel like I have a whole new sense of freedom this time around. I have so much bottled up in me creatively that I'm ready to release. There have already been talks about a new body of work, a new project, and I'm really excited and eager to dive into it.

There was so much pressure surrounding that first album. I felt the weight of it, the expectations, the uncertainty, because you only get one debut. You never get that first album back. So now that I've done it, I feel like, okay, let's do it again, but this time, let's actually have fun. Let's free ourselves from expectations, not just from the public, the fans, or the industry, but from ourselves too.

I'm excited to push myself to have fun, because I felt robbed of that the first time around. Now, I won't say there's nothing I'm afraid of, but I'm definitely not as afraid as I once was. Having gone through everything I have in my personal life, especially with my parents' health, it really puts things in perspective. Those were life-threatening moments. If I was able to come through it and still be resilient enough to finish and release an album, even if it didn't go exactly how I envisioned, then really, what's the worst that can happen? At this point, I'm not afraid of much. I trust myself, and I owe it to myself to have fun and truly enjoy the process this time.

What can you share with us about your upcoming projects?

I don't want to give too much away. I can definitely say that I acknowledge where I came from.
