There were rumors of her releasing a collab this summer and releasing an album in the fall. I also posted a while back from a semi reliable rumor account that she was working with Rodney Jerkins, Pharrell, and Anderson Paak. They also mention more pop leaning which is another reason why I think she's still signed to a label. If she was indie I think she would lean heavier into R&B.

Well i'm not inclined to believe that if she was independent that her and Lydia wouldn't have acknowledged that. To me a split definitely occurred between her and her label but I just think we would've heard by now if she was independent. Like didn't she do a whole women's empowerment conference? Wouldn't she have added that she's an independent artist and her struggles with keeping up with her schedule? You even mentioned before that there is some kind of clause that would prohibit her from releasing but not from speaking openly about it. I just have a feeling that she moved label or maybe is in the process and doesn't want to speak about it before it's finalized.

I still don't think she's independent for some reason. I would've thought that she would've announce her leaving by now. I have a feeling she's with TDE and is just keeping it under wraps.

So i'm hearing that the AMC Virtual concert thing is canceled. Maybe she has something else planned?

IDK this account has been right and has usually been wrong about her so I guess we go to take with a grain of salt. It's saying that the collab will be on her next album. Also I'm thinking she either is independent (like some thought) or they are still figuring out a way to announce her being apart of another roster.

Who said that? I haven't heard anything regarding a possible collab. At this point I think this may be for her upcoming album because to me it wouldn't make sense for them to tease like this if it wasn't. I wouldn't be surprised if she announces her new label and her new single the same day.

Those artist you named are actually signed with RCA though. If Normani was moved to Jive then the imprint would be different. It's still under Sony and will be foreseen by RCA management but it's still a different label altogether.

Some people said she may independent and that her interactions with Kehlani could be her signaling for a collab later this summer. As for the label situation, I'm leaning more towards her being under the Jive Records and them waiting for a grand reveal like speculated. However, why would RCA move her to a subsidiary that wasn't fully staffed? I feel sorry her career ended up like this but we need to let her figure her self out. I will give her an obligatory stream of her new music. I however, won't be engaging in her other stuff because she's too inconsistent.

Probably not. Either she's been shelved (hopefully not) or whoever she is signed with now wants to wait until they are ready to announce something. A feature could be seen as a distraction (even though I'm open to any kind of music).

why are we arguing about 5 years old single? Wildside to me proved that Normanu has a strong crossover ability (had she and the label no squandered it). She easily had what it took to be what Rihanna was in the early to late 2000's/2010's. Someone who could've bridged the gap between the urban and pop market. if only she had released that pop album when she was told. We would've been eating good. As for Camila, like I said; yes, she is popular. Yes, she has more of a following than Mani. However, she has no sons or any real influence on pop culture outside of a few memes. Normani; regardless if you believe so or not. Definitely changed the pop lane for the good. Nobody was really performing when she debuted as a solo artist. Her Love Lies performance went viral and gave her some notoriety because the pop stars weren't dancing and performing like her at the time. Now she has everyone trying to uo their performance game with some choreo. Hell, even Harry Styles is doing a stiff ass two step in his performances.

First of all the Pandemic was still in effect. She released her lead Don't Go Yet in summer of 2021. For which didn't help it because even with all those radio deals and playlists still never managed to crack the top 40 on BBH100. Although she may gotten a Grammy nod it was ONLY for Bam Bam which was a collaboration with the Grammy darling Ed Sheeran. Also the pop genre (and pretty much every genre) was weak that year. Hence why Taylor won back to back for AOTY. Bam Bam also only got in because 2021 didn't really have many Pop collabs that did anything.

What? Familia was still a massive disappointment. Hence why they had to push the collab to get it off the ground. Also, the reason why they were going to drop her was because she had spent all that damn money on the promotion of the Romance the album. It underperformed, she wanted a bigger budget for Familia. The label advised against it and let her drop during the pandemic. She had a 5 album deal and the label saw that her popularity was waning. Hence why they pulled hella dates from her tour. She realized this and got her people to reach out to Selena to pull some strings to get her over to Interscope.

Come on you have to do better than that. We all know you are that account a few posts up. I'll tell you Camila stans are something else. Your girl is about to release new music and now that 5h has had a resurgence all you guys have to think about are the other members. You guys see what it's like to see your fav artist fall into irrelevancy.

Not that I believe everything I read but this leaker account has been right on multiple occasions. Let's hope it's a single that we help promote so that the label(s) see(s) that she still has support.

Let's put in perspective when Camila was in fear of being dropped from Epic she had Selena help her get a deal with Interscope. During that period she was still on Epic's roster until the release of C, XOXO.
