It is possible but it needs to hang in there and continue pulling +ve updates for a few more days. 3 songs in the 5-10 range are freefalling and the gap between BM and #11 (Chr*s Br*wn ) is getting smaller too

She literally said in an interview that she had a concept and decided to go a different route though is what I'm saying lol. She wasn't just "experimenting" with no focus to see what she was vibing with, as another user mentioned around the time of Bowie's death (and in another interview where she said a friend told her to "make the music she wanted to make") she decided to scrap and make Joanne. She made 8 songs with RedOne - not wrote, made and produced demos on company dime - I'd call that productive rather than "short and yielding very little." Does that mean she had a title, album cover, fully fleshed out concept, and trackless for Original LG5? Of course not. I'm just saying there was clearly - and these are Gaga's words, not ours - enough material and progress made on that vision to warrant fans mythologize that era of recordings as "original LG5," something somewhat fleshed out and productive before starting Joanne. 

The race for Best Song @ the Oscars is pretty wide open rn. Gaga could win. If she isn't performing I hope she at least attends the ceremony.

Can you link me to the interview? I'm happy to be wrong about this, but I don't recall her saying this.

Plenty of talented actresses spend their entire career going completely unrewarded. Gaga has been showered in praise for two roles already. Who cares if she doesnt get an acting nom/win in the immediate future if her commercial success and general acclaim continue to rise up to her 40s, which is extremely rare for any pop star.

Tea. Can't believe Gaga fans are falling for the OGH narrative and acting like an Oscar isn't still an Oscar at the end of the day.

If she's really not performing, it's probably cause she doesn't have the time to rehearse as much as she'd like.

 

Also I just realized Rih posted those photos of her son listening to Lift Me Up to campaign for the Oscar since we're in the voting period.

It's really weird that Gaga and/or WB aren't interested in performing. It's obviously a way to stay in good graces with the Academy, but also, she's in the US, they could have easily allowed her 5 days off and planned to film other stuff while she was at it. 

 

It's a weird choice, but I said months ago that I didn't want her to perform, so a win is a win.
