That’s not quite true, in addition to RedOne she also had sessions with Giorgio Moroder and I believe one other producer at least that we know of. She said in an interview that in the process of making what LMs refer to as the “original LG5,” she was inspired to suddenly make “the music she wanted to make,” ie Joanne. She also met Mark Ronson to begin Joanne much later than we knew she began working on what would become her fifth album. That doesn’t mean she had a whole album ready to go before Joanne, but that she at the very least certainly had enough early sessions/concepts to constitute the idea of the “original LG5.” 

Alejandro is such an immaculate pop song / moment that left her peers in the dust in terms of taste level, and yet it’s still only B-tier in terms of Gaga’s biggest successes.

Working with other producers to figure out what sound you want to make is not the same as having an "original concept" for an album, though? So many Gaga fans are under the impression she had something for LG5 and got rid of it and put out Joanne instead, when in actuality her sessions with RedOne and others were short and yielded very little, which is why she chose not to go with them. I mean, RedOne is on the album via Angel Down, which isn't exactly the sound and image Gaga fans try to make the "original LG5" out to be.

I remember Gaga saying that when David Bowie died, in January of 2016, she decided to change something about what she was doing, like his death made her realize that that was not the path she wanted her music to take. And Joanne came out 9 months after Bowie's death, I think she was going one direction with Mark, Giorgio, Boys Noize and Redone, maybe more of a "pop" or "comercial" one, and changed to a more "authentic" kind of work. So yeah, thanks to that we got Juanita and A-YO (the "next Uptown Funk") instead of LG5 and Frankensteined.

I don’t think Joanne is authentic though. It’s the album with the most tracks written by other people and it all comes across as a cosplay.

 

Now, don’t get me wrong, I love me some Joanne but even her Grandma was like
