Hi y'all!

I am a new Beyhive member. I first got into Beyonce because of Renaissance (my most-played album of 2022), and I recently got into her discography. I've been listening to nothing but Beyonce for the last month. Lemonade is my favorite album of hers, followed by self-titled. I watched Homecoming for the first time last week, and I loved it.

Does anyone know where I can watch the Lemonade film and the visuals from self-titled?

all the music videos for Self titled are on youtube, the lemonade film is a tidal exclusive :deadbanana4:

Picking one song is hard, but my faves are Haunted, Blow, Partition, and XO. I also love Standing On the Sun.

What is yours?

Literally the 3 best songs on the album, immaculate taste so far I see :clap3:

Well, the good news about the visuals coming so late is that the weather will be nice again and ppl can enjoy fully when they’re out

No shade, genuinely asking

Why are there so many Bey x dua lipa hybrid stans on here? There's like 5 of you just from the top of my head and it make sme wonder 'cause to me they have barely anything in common, so what gives?

are we sure that the visuals are filmed and are coming soon or it's just fanfictions? don't wanna get my hopes up

they make quality bops / excel at different types of pop music :penguin:

idk i was a Bey stan since I Am.. (before that i knew of her but stanned Nelly Furtado kii) and Dua since her debut but as you said, i also don't see that much of a connection between theme except for both of them servicing great pop music in completely different ways.

Gay-friendly

A certain cool-factor

Sexy, empowered females

Hard workers who are adamant on improving themselves

Bops after bops after bops

Album artists

Obviously Bey is in a whole different galaxy when it comes to sheer talent, but there are admirable qualities about both. The way Dua handled FN and the pandemic was nothing short of amazing

I'm saying Rennie is a perfect summer album, when people/gays especially are out being degenerates and dancing. Perfect time for a little reboot

growing up I was a huge Spice Girls fan so Brit pop has a special place for me.

I like Dua Lipa's bops and her vocal tone. I've seen her on tour 3 times, first time being in early 2018 when New Rules was barely blowing up and she played for a crowd of 3,000. It's always been a fun time! I was front row at the Future Nostalgia tour and I was living!

but also, I'd like to think my music taste is somewhat eclectic! in my Top 50 on last fm I have albums from Beyoncé to Dua Lipa to Kacey Musgraves to Summer Walker and SZA and Ari Lennox and Victoria Monét and Kiana Ledé to Charli XCX and Tove Lo and Carly Rae Jepsen to Taylor Swift and Maggie Rogers and Olivia Rodrigo and Lorde to Tinashe and Megan Thee Stallion to Sara Bareilles and Fiona Apple. I got em all.

Atrocious song. I am happy she stopped including low hanging fruit like this and Pretty Sharts on her albums  :cm:

Her worst single and the only filler on 4sus (together with Diane Was Here)

One of her best songs. The acapella is astounding

Yes. BTINH is too basic for Beyoncé, and more of an annoyance that it's basically just another Irreplaceable years after everyone else already tried their hand at the Irreplaceable sassy-send-off mid-tempo tracks. I've always strongly disliked it and I hold it as the one time I truly can say I disagree with Beyoncé and her choices, though I can see why she released it as a single (and she was justified at least in its chart performance...I guess).

The music video remains the only Bey video I've watched once. Hated the wedding theme. Hated those crusty, dry buns in her hair.

That being said when I hear it, it is a catchy song, but if anything it should have been a bonus and one of the amazing three bonus tracks should have moved up to the main album.

I love Dua (I’m British so I’m biased) and I think one thing that sets her apart is that she actually has taken the time to improve herself and work at her craft. In a world where that is neither encouraged nor really applauded, I admire that aspect of her as I do Bey.

Otherwise she fits a different mold where she feels Katy’d in career terms (so far) and Kylie’d in influence. But I can see why people are fans of both. The music has been HITTING for both this decade

No idea when this interview is from then but if it's recent then that means they were still filming music videos as of a few months ago :deadbanana4:

Dua puts effort into her craft and dedicates herself 100% to a concept. In an industry of 2-min songs, lazy interpolations and playlist albums, that's genuinely refreshing. Plus, she makes Kylie'd dance-pop music and I'm a sucker for that. :gayalipacat3:

Yeah.

I owned Dua's album (FN) as well and she's one of my top artist during the pandemic!

Vocally it’s great and it’s a better version of Irreplaceable (lyrically). Like when I break up with someone imma blast it
