What's suprising to me is how much Countdown was rejected by the GP. I personally get it though, the song was amazing for the first week I heard it but it's just a bit too jingle-like. Curious how it would of done as the lead before she alienated radio with RTW.... it's definitely sounds like a hit.

Surprised IWH has more streams than 1+1 tho.

I like to think Countdown would’ve at least had a better peak than RTW. It was an immediate yes from me and the people I played it for liked it a lot too but it went against the sound of that era so idk. 
 

Also, Was Countdown really rejected tho? The single releases felt right on top of each other this era, I remember the video but didn’t know there was an actual push for it.

Probably licensing issues since it's a cover. Or she just felt like trolling us.

I mean it had a very strong video, got sent to radio and received a televised performance. It's also been used a lot by her in subsequent tours, so the fact its only sitting at 180m streams meanwhile Dance For You is at 120m is quite telling. Something about it didn't click. I'd expect it to be closer to 300m

Any new insider info revealed lately? I keep hearing rumors about a pre-order for Act II coming soon. 

I don't like Never Gonna Love Again. I thought it would grow on me because I love pretty much everything she does, but I would have been happy if this never saw the light of day. I think it's mostly the lyrics but the way she's singing it is not my fave either.

Well Dance For You is by far the best song on the album, Lay Up Under Me is better than anything that isn't Love On Top too

 

Schooling Life is also better than a few tracks on the standard version so yeah the extended version is the only correct way to listen to 4

 

Probably a wild take but I'd love to hear a jazz record from her, hopefully one of the next acts.

 

Not traditional but more blues/soul/sophisti-pop influenced.
