Renaissance / Break My Soul was being teased before Surprise by Chloe dropped on June 17th, with the actual release being June 20th. I don't think they're really worried about that.

I know everything has been kinda unexpected at this point, but the idea of her not dropping the choreo before the tour seems incredibly foolish and unlike her. I just cannot see that happening.

This is honestly what I think. If it doesn't come in April I really see it coming in June or July a la BIK. I would've never thought she'd duplicate the TG/BIK rollout considering there are some mid to casual fans that still don't know either exist but I will get my life regardless lol

not really, tbh. it was Beyoncé's first radio single in... a very long time. her first pre-album lead single since Run The World  so it wasn't at all surprising that radio initially ate it up. and B is a multi-genre artist, so multiple formats were on board.

 

it's not much different than "Look What You Made Me Do" going #1 on pop radio off of initial hype and then breaking spin loss records once it wore off. it's just that Beyoncé got the attention of other formats too (though she didn't go #1 on pop), adding up to a hefty total AI.

We need Columbia to step in again and get that stubborn auntie off her shiny high horse. Single #3 Heated serviced to radio and AHAP playlisted, maybe used in a commercial.
