Even just making this list I feel bad there are 3 songs that will always be on my top 10 however and those are Haunted, 6 inch, and AHAP. They just have such a grip on my brain that scientists need to study it, it’s not normal how much I listen to these back to back.

Even Bey herself dislikes BTINH 

 

Anyhow, I wonder if the reason why LUUM got deleted from streaming services was due to the fact that it's actually a cover. What a pity though, that song is a masterpiece. 

A 10/10 when it comes to production, vocals and musical composition.

Almost every song is single potential which is why its a mess we're potentially only getting 2 

Smash potential aside, Alien Superstar is the one that guests me the since it's such an iconic signature moment that people would look to a decade from now. Other songs are great but they're as unique 

The thing about BTINH from a story perspective is...

...it is quite on brand for Beyoncé insofar as kiss-off songs go, hailing back to Bug-A-Boo and Bills, Bills, Bills, to Me, Myself, and I and then Irreplaceable and to an extent...If I Were A Boy but what is "off" about it is that none of these songs are holding onto this "I'm better without you" emotion after what we can assume is many years, and this better-than-you-bitterness while she's telling us she's "so over" him feels almost unlikeable. The brand of Beyoncé is one of graciousness, wisdom, growth. Taunting a decade-old ex is none of those things, and since the song gives us no indication of why she may feel this way besides citing "lies", it's harder to imagine the situation. In the past she's clearly outlined every way a man has bugged her, or used all her money, or was controlled by a man or was cheating on her wearing the stuff she bought him, etc. and this made the sass she sang feel earned and thrilling, justified. BTINH is just a bit dry and doesn't key into actual emotions.

 

All in all, there are far stronger breakup songs in her catalogue, let alone the album and it would have made a cute bonus track with Schoolin' Life moving up to the main tracklist.

I still don't understand why she didn't go with the original BTINH which is much stronger.

 

Or why Schoolin Life was a bonus track.

 

Or why Lay Up Under Me isn't available to stream anywhere, but I could've sworn it was at one point.
