OMG! Thank you for posting this. I’ve been waiting for someone to post a video of her doing this run.

Beyoncé literally made a song called THIQUE on Renaissance. Can't y'all just see that Beyoncé is NOT interested in looking skinny? she wants CURVES on her body and it's her body so she is going to do whatever the heck she wants! She eats, doesn't obsess about weight gain anymore and just work out before a performance probably for energy. Isn't it what she basically said in one recent magazine interview? good lord.

Beyoncé has access to endless options to lose weight and has gone missing for more than 3 months. Clearly if she wanted to look skinny, she would look skinny. She is not interested.

Ultimately she looks great & I agree with your wider sentiment but not necessarily the wording of this. She explicitly said after Coachella that she will never put her body through such stress again trying to loose weight. Some "options" are no longer an option for her.

In her 2020 interview she also emphasised the importance of her actual wellbeing taking precedent over looking a certain way.

She may have an ideal weight, she may or may not already be that ideal weight... What she emphasised however is that the route to getting to that ideal will be sustainable and a kind on her body & mind... 3months is not substantial time for anyone not going on extreme diets/doing crazy work outs. She could very well be working towards goals, but the results and how quickly she hits them will be different now compared to 6 years ago.

Maybe a heel broke.

Is this possible given the luxurious and expensive shoes she can afford?

Some clips are doing numbers, but they're not really reflective of the songs.... The most viral thing is DIL outro which isn't in the actual song lol.

Probably doesn't mean anything, but manifesting the Rennie visuals being on Netflix rather than any other service.

It's also of note that they kind of seized mentioning her in the aftermath of the album, but are doing so again after Dubai.

Makes sense for them to capitalise on any hype to promote homecoming though. I'm still hopeful Netflix can pull through.

It wouldn't be the first time. Happened in Already music video (which still made the final edit).

It looks like limping to me and nothing to do with the shoes.

tik tok already trying to come for her because she "lipped her entire set" :biblio: the ending of drunk in love was def. prerecorded tho

I’m NY Hive but Paris has been where my heart lives for as long as I can remember. These days it feels more like home to me than New York. I try to go at least a year, hopefully I’ll be there again in the summer, maybe even for Bey :'(

i feel you, such a great (and dirty) city you can’t not love it :penguin: come for the renni tour, it’ll be my first beyoncé tour in paris and we know she loves the girls here :jonnycat:

à propos paris

Have never cared too much for the catalog streams debate, but it's not surprising to see Lemonade lagging.

It's a simple combo of arriving too late to Spotify x Apple AND the music not having the type of urgency people expect from Bey's "trademark" hits.

Yes, it's critically acclaimed and would be doing better had it launched on all the streamers (it's also ironically the emo-R&B that would do well if released now), but broadly speaking the material isn't the uptempo type of bops the GP expect/want from Bey. So there's not much incentive to rush to it now that it's available.

Lemonade will always be that girl from an era standpoint and will always be critically hailed, but I maintain it's the least Beyonce flavored project to date and GP-speaking is the album with the least broad appeal.

With Ren, it's clear that beyond stans and critics, the mass GP appetite for Bey material is: uptempo, Pop-leaning, and radio-friendly. Essentially everything Lemonade is not.

So, it's performance or lack-thereof really is no surprise IMO at all.

Oh and I’ve just thought of it but that picture of Jay in the « club » I posted is actually a screenshot from my own video (that you can’t find anywhere because I don’t use instagram to show that kind of things and I did not post it anywhere :)).

if that can reassure the ones who thought I was a fraud I can still UP that video I shot when I noticed him to show you :). The only thing is you’ll have to explain me how to do so haha :)

my trip to Dubai has now ended and I’m waiting for my flight back home :)

This makes me believe even more that the tour will start in the UK.

Respectfully, I kinda disagree a bit. Overall, I do think Lemonade is a "hard" listen because of the subject manner, genre fusion and whatnot, but independently there are tons of songs that fit what you described.

- Hold Up is pop radio ready and a pure banger

- 6 Inch is an obvious Urban hit and would attract the same crowd who adore DrIL or Partition

- Sorry might be a bit dated now, but at the time was perfectly in line with 2016's trap era

- This may be odd, but I really think Daddy Lessons has the classic Bey sound. Everyone I have played it to becomes obsessed with it.

All this to say, I don't think Lemonade "not feeding GP appetite for Bey" is the reason. I think ultimately it just comes down to the easiest answer: lack of familiarity.

Fair points.

Although, the songs you mentioned are the ONLY picks beyond Formation that stood any chance of single success. And even then I'm not sure any of them are "surefire smashes" in the way much of Ren is. For example, I wouldn't call Hold Up a "banger" despite its comparative commercial-friendliness to the rest of Lemonade's material.

To be honest, all takes are essentially conjecture, as the Tidal-only thing means Lemonade's material will forever be untested (in the literal sense). We'll never truly know if it's the material, the misguided streaming approach, or both.

Edited by Cbreezy

Lemonade streams poorly because it has no hits, that's really it. None of those songs are recognizable to anybody in the GP beside maybe Formation.

I'm glad she's seeing a rise in streams though. Look at what promo can do :clap3:
