there was a blind a few weeks ago reporting that she was on some medicines due to her condition and that it caused her gaining weight. now it makes sense.

I know this award is a joke but the point is, she has cemented herself in history with the likes of Whitney and Lauryn. And on top of that she won an award for a genre that completely ridiculed and ex

I was watching some LQ clips from her show and just noticed that she sampled Warda's Batwanes Beek before Beautiful Liar and it was incredible. :jonny5: I hate that she cut the "shakira shakira" adlibs nn but at least we got a performance of this underrated classic. I don't care about DiL but the vocal acrobatics were cute too.

The show is all over my FYP. Not sure if it's due to her surgery but I'm also liking how she's dancing less now. That and giving her songs more to breathe instead of the ugly 30 seconds mashups. I think her tours would still be phenomenal without heavily choreographed numbers and her just vibing to the songs/maybe some voguing during certain Rennie songs.

Painkillers and steroids can cause that in general, BUT...let's be real Bey has been Thique(r) on/off since the twins.

Not that any of us have any jurisdiction over her body, but as long as she 's able to perform well and looks good doing it, then she's good, I'm good.

It's a touchy topic because it's not always approached with respect, but IMO Bey formally normalized her new era of Thique/ness with OTRII and more directly with BIK.

I’m NY Hive but Paris has been where my heart lives for as long as I can remember. These days it feels more like home to me than New York. I try to go at least a year, hopefully I’ll be there again in the summer, maybe even for Bey :'(

She's a wizard lol.

More than I'm willing to admit, I pay close attention to this (as I'm really plugged into her being an agile performer). Bey is a master of angles, outfits choices, poses, even the blend/formation of her and her dancers. All is designed to put her best foot forward whether Thique or otherwise. She also has almost ALL her pics shot by her own photographers. She's on top of it all.

Even revisiting her OTRII outfits, she's covered up in specific places a lot, but there's enough skin to distract from what's actually at play.

The fact you said you didn't really notice the Thique'ness means her antics are working.

Again, touchy subject. But will just say she looks great and like "Beyonce'.

Beyoncé literally made a song called THIQUE on Renaissance. Can't y'all just see that Beyoncé is NOT interested in looking skinny? she wants CURVES on her body and it's her body so she is going to do whatever the heck she wants! She eats, doesn't obsess about weight gain anymore and just work out before a performance probably for energy. Isn't it what she basically said in one recent magazine interview? good lord.

Beyoncé has access to endless options to lose weight and has gone missing for more than 3 months. Clearly if she wanted to look skinny, she would look skinny. She is not interested.

I think it’s safe to say she hasn’t delivered a vocal showcase like this since Glastonbury.

This!

ALSO to the person in here insinuating she didn't look 'injured', just that she was 'struggling to walk because of the junk in the trunk'... you are delusional. Bey is still a smaller size than the majority of women in society, who CAN ALL WALK JUST FINE. For you to write she is struggling to walk because of her weight, just shows how far out of reality you live :rip: The hive's obsession with her weight is disgusting, you would think people would chill talking about it after we find out she's had an injury, but noooo :toofunny3:

I hear you and agree with much of what you're saying. Actually all of it.

I also think it ok for us to tastefully, carefully, and respectfully engage on the topic of her aesthetic. The idea that we be so PC to the point that respectful convo is off the table ain't really the move IMO.

The way I see it with Bey (and all acts for that matter) is that we are introduced to them as....products. Hell, it's how she (very savvily) approaches her own career.

Much like a can of CocaCola or Pepsi, a successful, well-established product comes with expectation of delivering on the expectation of what it looks, tastes, and feels like. Any changes to that are, in essence, tweaking the "formula" and requires careful re-introduction of that update to the audience.

And IMO that's exactly what Bey has done with key soundbites in Homecoming ("never over-training like that again"), proudly mentioning a fupa in Harper's Bazaar, showcasing her new Thique in BIK (FYWB vid comes to mind), and actually making a track called Thique on Ren.

IMO all that matters is that she can still deliver on the key touchstones of the Beyonce brand: great music, epic performances, and looking good doing both.

The performance made an insane amount of noise for a private show, completely exceeded my expectations. It's still all over my timeline on Twitter, my tiktok FYP, even local news accounts are posting about it. 😭 She will never fall off.

She's already proved she's vocally as great as ever, now just wait for the Grammys for her to gag everyone with the BMS and CUFF IT choreo.

Yall, I really dont want to be debby downer all the time, just be aware of how algorithms on social media work. Of course the performance is all over your timeline cause AI realizes ur a Bey fan.

I do hope positive news spread tho. Her vocals are still superb :jonny5:

The way so many of my casual fan friends are saying the same. Particularly the point about TikTok FYP. So, it's definitely not just the stan algorithm. She's all over The Shade Room, Hollywood Unlocked and the mainstream outlets like TMZ, Daily Mail etc. Multiple posts on each. It's a big story.

Like you said, she will never fall off! It's crazy (and amazing as a stan of hers) to know that (in this age of "necessary relatability") we have a genuine megastar who will continuously go viral on the sole power of her ability rather than any try-hard antics or forced girl-next-door BS.

She should do a sultry Virgoos Groove Performance and just anihilate those vocals during the last minute. In the vast sea of vocal mediocricy, thatll do lol

dangerously in love doing 1m is crazy for a 20 year old record omg
