This is argument is extremely pedantic. I’m a computer scientist that actively publishes AI research. It’s obvious what most people mean by “AI”. I don’t trip over myself when people espouse hatred for AI and rush to correct them that any algorithm can technically be classified as AI. In most settings, it’s obvious that people are referring to the features that is being shoved in our faces nonstop—the same features and brain dead investment that are leading to skyrocketing energy prices across the country. It’s clear people are not referring to the application of deep generative models for the discovery of materials for carbon capture. Don’t be difficult. It’s obvious what people mean.

I will never understand why people who actively detest Hassan Piker are so obsessed with him. Like, WHY did Gail give a shocked side-eye because Nixon does not know a Twitch Streamer..? It's all so unserious.

She does what Gracie Abrams tries to do but pulls it off really well. I liked her album a lot; Silver Jubilee is fantastic.

In no way should someone like AOC, Mamdani, Bernie, etc. answer a question by litigating the definition of "woke". AOC's answer was beyond stupid because it said nothing and somehow threw everyone and everything under the bus. "Woke 1" doesn't mean anything. Chronically online people have their own idea of what it means, but there's no shared understanding of it. Some think it means BLM; some think it means Nancy Pelosi kneeling on Kente cloth; some think it means trans rights; etc. AOC validating right-wing framing around progressive causes is a great demonstration for why I do not trust her instincts. She could have just so easily shot down the framing of "woke" as a right-wing distraction from issues affecting working Americans. It's amazing to me how so many of the Platner Left have defended AOC for chastising "Woke 1.0" because "identity politics bad" without realizing that Woke version control is actually engaging in distraction politics based on identity reductionism. People like AOC should focus on disarming the attack altogether rather than validate it. (Sorry if this feels directed at you. This discourse, in general, has been annoying me and I needed to vent a little bit.)

The only explanation I have for the polls discrepancy with WI is that the race basically boiled down to Hong vs. <Insert establishment frontrunner here> and then the support for other candidates consolidated behind the latter. That said, I think Hong is going to win which is exciting nonetheless.

I mean, I wouldn’t put it past him to switch parties to give the GOP the majority if Democrats have a 51-49 majority.
