Surprised to see so much confusion over the lengthy preorder window. I was elated when I saw it.

It's fairly standard for legacy acts/acts that don't stream like that-that.

The UK chart barrier to entry re debuting high is actually quite low. Bananarama opened at #6 with 8.5k recently. Same with FLO, and the Little Mix girls solo.

It's one of the few regions where the streaming schtick is more heavily weighted to the singles chart, while actual sales still hold weight on the album chart. The Babes are definitely an album act. So, this is perfect for them and will pay off handsomely.

A top 10 entry is almost certainly a given (Q1 is hella quiet), which is already a triumph. But if they continue to play their cards right, there is a chance it could be #1.

Like, they could easily let this sell steadily through this year and drop last-minute deluxe editions upon release for the final sprint sales boost

All I wanted was a release date, and we got one, so I'm not going to complain anymore. I'm happy to see they've finally launched the rollout properly.

Insane that it's their 9th album but only the third with the original lineup. Looking forward to this.

Posts like this are mildly infuriating.

The release date is to help secure some financing for a dedicated group of live shows, which are waiting for the money to come through.

I'm not saying art before charts, but the only thing that matters is they sell live show tickets, that'll allow them to move away from festivals.

The festival era has meant they can't get a record deal, because they don't have a say in giving revenue share from festival touring. Not to mention they are difficult to coordinate and work with.

I expected Modern Love would be a single, since they played it the other night in a festival, and it sounded so good, but Ghost is somehow even better

Highkey I wasn't expecting them to add last years singles to the album, but I guess it'll boost streams. Weeds will work better in the context of an album - it's one of my FAVOURITE tracks by them, I literally sing it everyday.

The album cover is stunning. Simple and chic. Ghost is moody, British, quintessentially Sugababes. It reminds me of Denial. Great song, and a great way to restart this era.

Only 90s girl and queens have bops called 'After All' on their albums, All Saints (God Bless William Orbit) and now our Babes.

I really hope they get a number one album, they bloody well deserve it after 13 years of false starts

Exciting they're finally getting to release an album after so long. I enjoyed the singles last yr, I'll give Ghost a listen later today. Excited to hear the whole album.

Ugh, so far away! But I love all the songs they've released so far, so I'm ready to stream.

My guess is "Modern Love" will be the next single to come out right before the album's release, so they can perform it during the promotional campaign.

I just heard Ghost and I can't believe they went through all they did to get to this point just to release something so mediocre, sounds like a garage band demo.

They strategically need to play it safe. The only thing they've done that's hit the wider mark they want is Mutya singing to a puppet. So the song they've released is basically a proper version of that.
