Do you remember your childhood?

Featured Replies

The title is simple; Do you remember anything from your childhood?

I've realized I honestly don't remember my childhood at all. From birth until I turned 18, it's basically just blank to me.

I don't know why I can't remember anything from those years. Sometimes I wonder if I subconsciously choose not to remember or if there's something keeping me from remembering. The only explanation I can really think of is maybe it's trauma related and my brain is forcing those blanks, but I genuinely don't know.

It's weird knowing I lived through 18 years of my life but not really being able to remember any of it.

I actually do have some memories of my youth. Some of the places I grew up in are even unchanged.

My childhood was good it was when I was pre-teen when things took a turn.

Yes, I have a lot of them. Obviously not from my early years though (like up until age 7)

bits and pieces of it yes. my earliest memory consists of my dad's parents when i was like 6 or so.

my mom did take a **** load of pictures during my childhood that i do remember some of those moments.

Yes, very vivid and detailed memories. I think I remember my childhood better than what I did 2-3 years ago rip

Yeah extremely detailed, the good and bad

Sometimes when Im bored, I go back into my life when I was 8-9, I don't remember every single day but I do remember some special days and kind of re-live them in my mind

I have my entire teenage years also recorded in video or pics so its easy remember

Yes, it was wonderful duck

My younger brother was born when I was 4 years old. I remember our whole family bringing him home, and I remember the first time I saw him at home — I got scared and ran away. I was the one who chose his name from several options.

Unfortunately, we never became close. Now that we're adults, we're basically strangers hippo

We adopted my brother when I was 4, so I remember most things since then. I will say, however, I did block a lot of things from high school. It was kind of a rough time.

sounds like u lived through severe trauma and must be repressing it all

Everything after the age of 4 or 5. I saw a home video of myself from an earlier age (I think I was 2 or 3), and it was the strangest feeling ever… to know that, that was technically me in that video yet felt like a stranger at the same time. It was giving multiverse rip

Yes and no. I remember core memories well and my time in elementary school but at the same time, a lot of it feels like a blur. Idk what that means.

I have memories as early as 4 but most of my memories begin when I was 6. I can remember moments from pretty much every year of my childhood up until today, but there was something my mom had mentioned to me that happened in middle school that I had completely forgotten/blanked out about. It's crazy your brain can just block something. Or maybe it just wasn't significant enough for me at the time to remember it.

I moved back to an area I used to grow up in so there will be certain buildings, trees, and especially mid-2000s songs that will take me right back to my childhood. It's a cool feeling to experience a neighborhood you lived in as a child through my adult eyes now. I'm lucky in that regard
