... it seems like NOBODY is anticipating her debut album anymore. No one has said anything.. nobody is asking... Doechii doesn't even post on social media anymore!

I think there's still excitement for her album, but she was kinda overexposed, especially after Anxiety's hype died down a few weeks after its release. She's a fantastic artist and worked very hard on her mixtape, so I'm assuming she's working on that. Runway was also a good way to keep her name out there, even if it didn't do all that well on the charts

Well when the girls skip steps and get a big tiktok hit before establishing a clear sound and pop culture spot for themselves, they kinda fall into that "one hit wonder" space.

It's like the difference between Megan thee Stallion and Cardi B. Megan let Savage and WAP become bigger than her then she couldn't do anything much after that. So she pivoted to tv, commercials, business, theater, fashion, and found more of a clear spot. Anytime a big mainstream brand needs a female rapper for something, they call Megan quick.

Meanwhile, Cardi got big off Bodak, followed up with Invasion of Privacy which had endless hits on it so people always want music from her. Then, she has her brand deals and everything coming secondary. Even if Cardi does a feature for a lesser known artist, it'll be a conversation for that week. She made the music that she is a lead artist on, the main attraction if that makes sense.

Doechii desperately needs to produce her own solo hits that better match her current artistry unlike Anxiety.

she's been saying her album is done, then she said she was back in the studio.. idk i feel like if it was up to her she would have dropped her debut album already, but the label is not letting her for some reason (maybe they don't like the material?). Either way she definitely wasted all the momentum they had created with her rollout. Like it's insane she hasn't dropped a real single after anxiety

maybe Anxiety was supposed to be the lead but with the backlash from reusing the Gotye song caused them to change directions with the SZA collab but then i dont think that one was a hit so they delayed things?

Why are some users saying that she received backlash for Anxiety? Didn't it go viral randomly meaning that the tiktok kids WANTED it to be officially released? So why would that bite her in the ass later on? And didn't it always sample the Gotye song? What am I missing??

Her career literally exploded AFTER Katy gave her exposure and a place on pop radio all summer.

Her alignment with Gaga seems to have done this. She should have jumped on the Sienna Spiro song instead.

Honestly she's probably in the recording studio as we speak. It's been unusually quiet so I bet she's hard at work cooking in the studio. She's probably a bit frustrated because, although Anxiety got her a lot of attention, it's a song from 2019 and it doesn't really fit her current style. Hopefully she proves the doubters wrong.
