I think this is where I'm at. The song is good, I just have higher expectations of Charli from her output pre-brat and I would rather wait for something that does resonate with me rather than be told en masse how I don't get it from the two I've heard.

If we're doing esoteric but still adjacently mainstream, I would like a sprinkle of True Romance lyricism. Doesn't have to be a full retread, just something more considered.

Yes, this is good. I like its laid-back minimalism, and the repetitiveness is quite fitting to its sentiment. I like Rock Music, as well. There's a sense of incompleteness on both songs, which makes them sound more like unfinished/unpolished demos, and I find that refreshing especially after BRAT.
