Baby that's not the issue. They have been mistreating Manon since day1 and thought out this entire "hiatus". If they had better at handling her departure everything would have gone way better than the mess the label created.

I don't think that's the case. She was seen liking posts about possible mistreatment, but a lot of the backlash seems to come from K-pop fans holding her to a different standard and criticising her for missing practices and performances. There's also a clear double standard, Megan and Daniela have missed performances as well, yet they're not labelled as lazy to the same extent.

The group will be fine, but Manon is an integral member, just like the others, and it would be better to have her back.

This is going to end up like the Pussycat Dolls' 'Buttons' music video with Melody filming individual scenes and not appearing in all the choreo parts of the video.

There's definitely discord in some way regarding Manon. If the reason is as stated previously by HYBE where it was Manon's decision, not addressing or affirming that's the reason will just make things worse. A member going on hiatus right before Coachella and comeback raises a lot of questions.

Without Manon they look like a bunch of Asian/light-skinned girls with a token dark-skin member and that's just not a good look for a 'global girl group', you can't claim to be that and then have the group looking like a 2000s makeup palette. She wasn't my favorite member but her loss is hard to ignore, I wish the rest an ounce of luck cause the whole thing has me & many others looking at them differently now.

The amount of parasocial nonsense from both fans and casuals is ridiculous. The same k-pop fans suddenly backing Manon are the ones who spent months calling her lazy. And the people saying she should go solo clearly have no understanding of how contracts actually work. There's also a specific group, mostly ex-Normani fans, claiming they'll support her, yet they couldn't even show up properly for Dopamine.

I do KATSEYE will be fine, their social media following surged after their Lollapalooza performances in Latin America. That said, Manon still needs to come back, and at the very least the company should clearly explain why she's on hiatus, because she appears to be perfectly healthy. It's also worth noting that even before the hiatus was announced, there were loads of viral tweets dragging her for her identity and claiming she wasn't the "right" kind of dark-skin representation.

but yeah not addressing the elephant in the room makes no sense to me not even just to appease fans but from a business perspective esp after mainstream media picked up on this situation too

it seems like they put out the statement right before they shot the video, but she was clearly supposed to be in it from the animatic leak, she was teasing upcoming releases in interviews, was so excited to get to perform at Coachella specifically, then after their statement she put out the low key cryptic message saying shes healthy + liked the mistreatment TikTok or whatever and then nothing ? the girls only acknowledged her in their first latam festival date as well and thats it..
