A new CD recording of the M.T. ni Sasagu repertoire by current AKB48 members is coming out, with the Limited Edition additionally including the original 2016 recordings. "Yume de Kiss me!" will therefore exist in both Sakura's original recording and a new 2026 recording (but the new singer hasn't been announced yet). Italian here, permits are harder to get and tourists are everywhere (aka way messier to arrange a shoot). Her team probably thought it was not worth it and went for some Italian stereotypes. I think it's cute anyway.

Tbh, and I worship This Kiss, Curiosity (Kiss' version) would have been a nice follow up single. Also, I'll never understand how Interscope didn't properly push Tonight I'm Getting Over You, which remains one of Carly's best track.

Since Versailles is nowhere to be found atm and we had a little detour from Day and Night, here's a performance (and a song) I think not many are familiar with (besides hardcore / pre-2015 fans). This was right after Kiss. The whole song's release was a bit puzzling at the time, but it got this huge TV performance as well as many others during the tour.

I'm with you, Kiss' version of Curiosity is the track that turned me into a full stan ever since the album medley was released to tease the project. So punchy My bubblegum dream aaaaaaah

Tbh, I kinda think the revamped version works better as it makes it a bit spicier in terms of production (although I can enjoy both). I genuinely wonder if it was ever considered as a possible follow up or if they went straight up to This Kiss. The music video was actually very nice.

Yeah I have that vinyl but the album definitely deserved more. About the original album being scrapped, it was Interscope that wanted a different body of work as 604 presented the original to them in the first place. It was a wild ride for sure and there are so many questions up in the air. Some crazy things are: She signed with Interscope early February 2012, and Kiss was due (to be sent to the label) by the end of July 2012. This Kiss (one of her best songs ever) was created during the end of June 2012 (timeline), how was the single actually picked as the follow up to Call Me Maybe? Were other tracks ever considered? (see: Tonight I'm Getting Over You, which was completed right before sending the album to Interscope) .

I really don't know, Dear Julien would have been the most obvious besides Curiosity since it was already quite aligned. Only needed some minor twists to be transported to Kiss.

We know a lot about E•MO•TION, but I would genuinely watch / read an interview asking specific questions of that time in her career (2011-2013). We all know it was a wild ride and she has now found her own place in the world as an artist, but so many things happened at the time and at the same time... Like, someone should genuinely ask her about the original Curiosity album and the arrival of Kiss as its replacement: 604 told Interscope an album was ready, and that Interscope preferred to proceed with a more electro pop sound, but how much room did she have to actually make decisions? How did that process work? Considering Curiosity had a MV (scrapped by Interscope due to it being "too sexy" for her audience at the time: see her performing on Disney Channel and 90210) and that she pushed for it to be the actual lead of the album (later changed with Call Me Maybe by 604). Given her attachment to the track, was another MV ever considered for the (improved imo) version on Kiss? Curiosity is the only song (minus Call Me Maybe) from the original album that made it into Kiss, were other tracks reworked (and then shelved) too? If so, which ones? She always highlighted she's an artist who writes a lot for her albums, did she do that for Kiss too or was the time given for its creation too short? How was This Kiss picked as the follow up to Call Me Maybe? And many more. I don't know, of course it's also the personal attachment to that project, but it's such an interesting case to analyze in my opinion, yet no interviews dare to go so deep into her journey and almost always stop at E•MO•TION with a bunch of Call Me Maybe-craze related things.
