So even though I was born and raised in the US, I'm technically a second generation immigrant but I find myself kinda alienated from the society in subtle ways. Somehow this leaks over onto ATRL where I can tell many users are American and sort of impose an America-centric understanding and perspective onto others and if you disagree with them they'll see you as rude or a threat in some way.

Many Americans tend to think that the way it works in their country is the only natural way for things to be. This is mostly due to the fact that it's less likely for them to travel abroad, and that they're the biggest global superpower, so it's in their mindset that the American way is the correct way.

there are plenty of european users here and a few folks from latin america. or, at least, there used to be. i don't think i have seen many users from asia or africa.

some americans, not all, tend to take a very "us first" view, and that can be quite annoying and exhausting indeed. though the same can be said of a few eurocentric fellas--and that view is only getting worse as our world faces serious geopolitical challenges.

Me asf but I'm from Mexico and a lot of the American culture kinda bleeds in too. I get how they think when it comes to politics and other stuff and even if I don't agree it makes sense since I grew up on that, a lot of their news are in our news channels too so it's inevitable.

It's not that strange that the site is US-centric, considering it was made to discuss American pop culture. But yeah, many Americans think the whole works in their ways.

i've seen more non-americans here spread more american / western aligned view points on here than actual americans. which is not surprising since it is the global hegemony currently

There was a Pinoy/Filipino base thread here before but 90% of them are all Katy Perry stans, so that thread vanished in 2016 along with its users.
