@D.M.F threads are unfunny, braindead and boring. There is so many of them daily it turns this forum into a slop along with a few other users like that one who called Madonna dead and said Beyoncé can't count and is still not banned rip

@D.M.F threads are fun, brainy, and entertaining. Regardless of whether you agree with the user or not, DMF is a harmless staple of the ATRL community and just generally a great online personality. If you're taking DMF's threads or posts seriously, then you're not an intellectual. Additionally, anyone who stans Addison Rae in their thirties forfeits their right to have negative opinions on other ATRL members. lakitu

At this point, I'm sure the mods and admins are trying to ragebait to drive traffic. So many people have been permabanned for so, so much less. Like, I'm sorry for that person and whatever their situation is but they bring so much toxicity with constant threads and counterthreads about some stan war from 25 years ago. I'm positive Xtina's own fans want them banned.

Respectfully @Bloo is abusing their position as a mod by giving air cover to vehemently aggressive users. I've said HALF as aggressive things as resident civics users, and yet they still continue be allowed to post in the Venezuelan thread?

Can another mod be assigned to civics to monitor their behavior? Discourse is dead on this site because of admins like Bloo who want to silence anyone who isn't in their worldview, but actively fight to bring back users who constantly are bad faith community members

I make a point to never make unilateral decisions in Civics because I am so engaged in that section of ATRL. If you have any issue with anything anyone has said, you’re more than welcome to report it properly rather than hurl a baseless allegation here in HQ. The former would be much more productive.

You made that joke about me stanning Addison and being in my thirties (I'm 27) 3 times already and it wasn't even funny the first time but I guess that checks out since you think dmf threads are hilarious

No offense but I don't think someone who has been running the gimmick of posting Fassbender gifs and signing their name on every post for literal years can be the arbiter of anything related to intellectualism.

DMF is tew much but none of you are being forced to interact with them rip

If you are this affected by someone online, it's time to log out

No one is affected, if anything that person is a pathetic caricature, they've been at this since 2008, literally closing on 20 years. The issue is with the double standards since there are clear cut rules against trolling and flamebait. So what's the reason?

I wouldn't have a problem with DMF's threads if they were creative and fun, but honestly, what's left to make fun of Christina Aguilera and her three fans?

That's a creative and fun comment. Never read something like that ever.

Boi! Get your ass out of here and do better next time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder what you both even mean by these comments, considering no mods are "assigned" to sections. (In fact, if a mod is very active in a certain thread/base, they will sometimes choose to not resolve reports there.) When a user reports a post, it goes into one, big report queue, and then any mod can look at the report and clear/warn it. To be honest, there are a handful of mods (myself included) who tend to look at the report queue pretty often (when it's working properly), and I don't think Bloo is one who runs to the queue, certainly not to resolve every Civics report. So what you're seeing as an individual mod issue might just reflect the general views of the moderation team tbh michael

As someone who does resolve Civics reports quite often, I will say that I very often clear reports from all political sides, because they may be shallow or ill-informed or cringe, but they do not violate rules. The warnings I give most often in Civics are for users who go too far and start to attack users rather than engage in conversation about the topic at hand, and you should continue to report those. As I've said in HQ a million times, there's this weird thing on ATRL where users often say stuff like, "You guys don't warn this person!!!" when you can't see if that's true or not. I/we warn people in Civics all the time for turning their posts into personal attacks. (And then those users get mad at us for warning them! It's a lose-lose for us! laugh)

The one thing I'm unclear on here is how you think any mod "silences" users—this is something that might be worth talking about more, but from just reading your posts here, it seems a bit misguided to place that blame on a single mod. Happy to answer other questions if you need clarification.

The Civics forum is moderated by several of us, probably more than most sections due to the sensitive nature of the topics there.

okay, fair enough. I always thought mods were assigned to certain sections.
