There was never enough evidence regarding TOTAL MAYHEM for everyone to be up in arms with anticipation. Those lyrics could have been part of TOTAL MAYHEM before they decided to scrap it but it's far more likely they have something to do with the new music. Gaga will have had a lot of time to work on new stuff between the promotional concerts and end of Mayhem Ball. I suspect something is coming sooner than people expect because she wouldn't mention it or allow rumors of Weeknd collaboration otherwise.

Especially now we know the tour is ending in April, I can't see them releasing a new version of the album just as the tour is wrapping (although I guess Tate McRae just did that)
