As a sidenote, I think Donald's military actions are nothing but to distract from the fact he's a child predator. It's vile.

But on the other hand, do I think Lady Gaga has any knowledge about Iran's government having a history of oppression or thinking back to US involvement in the previous revolution/helping start the backsliding in the country's democracy that we apparently condemn today? Probably not. Any comments she'd make would probably lack depth and come off as "peace4all❤️" vibes.

That's not an insult to her, but there's something to be said about managing expectations based on what someone does for a living.

For me, I never really think of Gaga's opinions on these because I feel like she's shown her character her entire career. There is zero, absolutely zero, doubt in my mind that she is horrified by any violence and cruelty against others. I am grateful to look up to someone that I know has a moral compass that points toward what's right. Sure, she could say things more often, but when she doesn't — She's more than earned my trust that it doesn't mean something nefarious or hidden views.

She says this every time she tours in a different country, at every show, and this was 12 years ago when the government was significantly less problematic than it is today. She's speaking to the people, not their government. Random Twitter accounts are using her for attention in a purposely malicious way, and none of them seep into the general consciousness of the GP/ have any traction in the real world.

I'm just generally tired/over people expecting her to speak up about every tragedy and world event like she's a supreme moral authority.

I bucket the zionist claims with those scat party photos that resurface every couple of years. Always brought up typically by people that already have a bias against her and they never stick because her brand as a Kindness Punk is well known and documented. Israel's genocide had zero public salience in 2014 and it's not like she wasn't going to be kind about where she was offered to perform. If I had to guess why her team hasn't acted on those former comments, it's probably because punitive activism centered on impossible standards is quickly going out of fashion. Woke will come back but woke like "every celeb can only be good if they tweet Free Palestine" does not resonate with the public anymore hence why it hasn't hit her image hard.

No one in the real world is holding their breath on Lady Gaga's opinion of Isreal's genocide. I'd love for her to tweet "f*ck Israel" but I don't need that to know she's fundamentally a good person.

Also Gaga has been pretty consistent with everything she advocates for even up to the 2020s (gay rights, trans rights, immigration, anti-bullying, etc.)

Like, we unfairly expect her to be a rolodex of knowledge and vocal support to every social issue in existence just because she's the Born This Way singer but she's always been consistent with her activist lanes.

Yup. And as a fairly left-leaning person myself, it's really unfortunate the Twitter sphere of "leftists" poison the entire debate and brand of progressives. Most of us know where the real battles lie and the stakes we face, and it's not on any celebrity's Instagram story.

Pretty much agree, that's why I will always be open to criticism towards Gaga (or the fanbase), but it's important to highlight the word criticism. It kind of has to imply good faith, and these Zionist accusations are never really made in good faith. It's just stan warring on the back of one of the most important, pressing political issues of our time.

No matter how much she gets criticized on whether she speaks on it or not, it doesn't really stop the genocide. The material conditions for Palestinians in Gaza don't get magically better because somebody decided to cancel Lady Gaga. To some degree it also feels like misdirected anger, because at this point in her career Gaga doesn't give a damn to fight back. She's a perfect vessel to scream at, you know you won't face any consequences if you do so, no matter what you say. Say one bad thing about the country starting with I on Twitter or to politicians in real life, you're gonna get hounded.

I mean... I would love her to say something meaningful about it and get into her "harrass senators on the phone until they do what you want them to do, here's the tutorial on how to do it on my youtube" bag from 2010 and make politcians afraid of her again, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.
