It's a shame that even a random Beyoncé release can chart decently on Apple Music US while a major Gaga release can't. Her US fanbase really dropped the ball. MAYHEM deserved a 300k debut on the Billboard 200 (though 219k was still a solid debut for her).

Hopefully next era they will focus more on Global promo rather than US centered. Those MAYHEM stadium shows helped a lot, the era was huge WW.

They did so well with Copacabana. There will be major hype for LG8 in Brazil, even moreso than usual for Gags.

I get the sentiment, but if she's "struggling" with her home market, I can't imagine her label/strategy team abstaining from US promo - if anything, they're probably going to go even harder than before...

But I agree on making sure she has global promo lined up too. Copacabana is proof alone that she is a force to reckon with and true international star.

To be fair, US AM is not a good indicator of pop music popularity here. It's incredibly leaned toward R&B, Hip Hop, and Rap. That's the same reason Cardi B's last album basically took over the entire Top 20 but really did nothing on Spotify.

She'll eclipse 300K+ next album without an issue assuming it's not completely left-field sound-wise, so it wasn't for nothing. Plus she was almost the most played artist on US radio last year with DWAS being at top and Abracadabra being a very strong Top 10 song that stuck around for a bit.

All of that said, as long as she's doing dance pop, it's never gonna be as big in US vs. global just given preferences here.

Shows how deeply pressed and insecure they still are, especially after what she achieved with the MAYHEM era. At this point I can only feel sorry for them.

Maybe... I think she's established a ~200k floor in the US, and anything above that is a bonus. This might sound a bit conspiratorial, but I honestly think MAYHEM would've cleared 250k+ if the cover art and variants had been more appealing. Physical sales are so tied to how appealing the packaging looks, and MAYHEM's aesthetic just wasn't as marketable. Give it a cover on the level of Chromatica and I honestly think it moves noticeably more CDs and vinyl.

facts late 2026 seem the most logical.

gagachella remains her best recording of the show .. literal cinema. so im curious to see how she will upstage that + the enhanced vocals on certain tracks.

TCB film timing made more sense bc she didnt have much going on musically & guilt from abandoning the era several times.

Yes, the ugly pic was completely accessible via the website's code. So, it was a surprise that it turned out to be the actual album cover.

It's too early to tease LG8 this year, I don't think we'll get a tease from the tour film. It's too speculative and obvious at this point.

Gaga tends to be unpredictable when it comes to announcements, so don't get your hopes up.

Still can't believe she blessed us with such a monumental Pop Masterpiece when we lost hope a bit

I am kind of hoping in a way that LG8 will be a more laid back era, but ONLY IF it's released this year and is more experimental / less commercial. This is the perfect time in her career to do something unexpected, coming off of the biggest hit & most successful tour of her career.

And by laid back, I mean not a ton of promo or big tour. I do imagine she wants to start a family somewhat soon, and this would allow her to do that. It'll be more of a gift for the fans.

Here's my ideal rollout:

Mayhem Ball Film (with LG8 teaser) - October 16

LG8 official announcement - October 19

LG8 + lead single release - November 13

Second single (wait to see what the fan fav is and actually make it a single this time…) - February 2027

About 4 weeks in between announce and release, with no pre-release single. I think she would benefit from the short runway since she sometimes ruins her hype by waiting too long lol. And I think no pre-release singles would be cool too, I like when artists do that tbh, it makes the listening experience better when you know nothing going in.

Gaga doesn't typically make music for an American audience especially on AM where genre preferences lean either RnB / Rap or non EDM pop

That's why Gaga does just fine when she collabs with artists like Ariana or Bruno, who are more tuned into American soundscapes. It's much harder for… anyone to score huge numbers on a song like Abracadabra for example, at least here in the US. If Gaga spent some time marketing an album full of DWAS she would do pretty well because that's what the US is interested in.
