And the old rock heads have dragged people like Harry Styles to hell and back. Don't think Beyonce is immune. If anything, I expect her to get dragged even harder by rock legends. The country celebs paid her dust mostly but rock singers aren't afraid to call her out.

And something in my gut is telling me the lead singer of Green Day is going to be asked about her in an interview and he will say something messy. You heard it here first!

nah, I feel like rock is more accepting, she might have some bums say otherwise but I believe more rock legends would be vocal in their support

If she is releasing, I still think Friday or Saturday makes the most sense. Every article about her appearance at The Met Gala will say something like "Beyonce, who released (single name) from her highly anticipated upcoming album,..."

Releasing on Monday, when all eyes are gonna be on her regardless, makes less sense to me. Why not double dip?

it depends on the style of rock.

cant speak for everyone, but bey doing rock to me, i think of psychedelic funk-rock wit some blues, rock & roll, and modern alt sounds. channelling the black pioneers like Prince, Tina, Jimi Hendrix, Chuck, and Lenny Kravitz. thats why i believe she be more accepted in that space, since theres already a legacy of black artists in those subgenres + the young black alt artists today.

country has always been conservative n no room for experimenting. thats why im thankful CC she highlighted the different subgenres of country while adding personal stories & history lessons.

NOW if act iii is on some grunge, punk, heavy metal, arena rock bs. and she tryna pull an AC/DC, KISS, Metallica, Nirvana …. i could see #that demographic having some shi to say.

Regardless of what genre Beyonce is doing, she is going to have everyone foaming and fuming.

She can make R&B music and people will still seethe.

The rock community is not gonna diss Bey, they are way more liberal and open to music in itself than country.

It's really not. I mean she's Beyoncé so she's going to be able to elicit collabs with legends and do her homework/make an effort to raise eyebrows of legends and connoisseurs of the genre but there's a bunch of old head snobs who will inevitably look down their nose at her, same as with CC and even Ren (but to a much lesser degree obv)

I think it circles back to the seemingly larger point of the three act series; she's asserting herself and indirectly saying to those kinds of snobs/critics: "I'm going to make it bc I've been told by this industry I can't/shouldn't make this kind of music cuz I'm just meant to be a black female pop star" (and all the trappings that come with that). I think there's an element of her that seeks to ruffle feathers .. it often makes those people look pressed and out of touch in the end

Rock will be way more open. Just look at the way Don't Hurt Yourself was received versus Daddy Lessons. I feel like the reception will be more like Renaissance, where there was some very minor talk from very few people that she was overshadowing actual EDM artists. It won't be as bad as country at all, thank god. It would be if she were untalented, but obviously the album will be an amazing take on rock, which they'll appreciate (mostly)

Rock is also way more authentic to her stage persona than Country has ever been. All of her Rock performances have been celebrated and go semi-viral every now and then. This whole venture will feel way more believable

Rock, like electronic music, leans more to B's natural strengths. It's extreme, challenging, brash. Country is too controlled, sonically, for B. I think rock is going to be great

I remember some people getting mad when Don't Hurt Youself was nominated for Best Rock Performance because she was "stealing the spotlight of true rock artists" or some dumb shite like that. I really wish she would have won that award just to piss them off more

She will mostly get some 'hate' for dominating the space as an established mainstream figure. And purists wont be happy about her taking up so much of the spotlight. That's fine. And with B, there is a certain amount of hate that comes no matter what

I don't care what them demons think. I'm just excited for a new Bey album

Rock will likely be far more forgiving than the country community. Some people in the rock community will be vocal about their dislike for her, but that is really no different to the everyday hate she faces. The only difference being the tension that comes with her stepping into their territory, so to speak. Ultimately, they're all haters, often driven by racism or misogyny and an unfortunate reality that won't ever fully disappear. In a way though, the backlash can work in her favour, it sparks curiosity streams and reinforces the message that inspired her to create this trilogy in the first place. It certainly worked that way for CC, at least in the initial days and I think she knows that.

Beyoncé has dabbled a lot more in rock than she has in country and the genre is a lot more of a natural fit for her. Also, country people are traditionalists and very, very racist. Rock is still mainly white and male but I think they are more open minded.

Bey not doing a Vogue cover in time for the Gala is more proof to me than ever that Act III is coming this summer because why would she not use the moment to promote Cecred and Sir Davis in VOGUE? She's clearly already planning to use a cover spread for the next act.
