Dolly Parton didn't release any songs that were originally released by black artists...

No I'm just saying Elvis stole equally from white and black artists, or attempted to.

In any case, it sounds like Elvis is the exact type of artist that should be referenced in a Beyoncé rock album. I'd honestly be surprised if he wasn't in some way. It's all full circle. There's just certain sings that I love that I hope she does

Was Beyoncé making a dig at Dolly Parton? I've never gotten the impression that she's been shady through her music

At a time when most of her pop peers – even the best ones – have either retired from music, faded from the limelight or simply contented themselves with recreating past glories, Beyoncé remains steadfastly committed to pushing forward. She does not chase trends or youth; even when collaborating with newer artists, she is able to meet them on common ground that does not result in either party being compromised or contorted. Instead, she chases greatness: fully realized artistic works that will add not only to her legacy, but to the culture and to the history of popular music.

67 year old madonna having a more active and smooth rollout than 44 year old beyoncé. i'm sure her vinyls won't be half complete and full of crumbs either

remember when there was an irrelevant DJ named horsecock or whatever in the coachella lineup back when Cowboy Carter came out and we were all trying to manifest a Bey appearance

And i say this with respect / may beyonce never ever do anything that resembles madonna quality of music, performances and behaviour.

Beyhive just does not understand beyonce. and we do not care.

Madonna was still breaking records touring wise at her 50s, don't you want Beyoncé to do the same? She may not be of your liking but between 2006 and 2012 all her tours and "performance style" were still top notch and as a fan of both i want B to follow in the same steps.

Beyoncé said during Cadillac Records promo that the real king of rock n roll was Muddy Waters, not Elvis. I don't think she plans to reclaim any of HIS music. At most, she might cover a song that he covered, but in the style of the original artist as a nod to the notoriety they might have lost when he covered their music.

And don't think she made any dig at Dolly…? While Elvis was known for stealing other records, Dolly is known for only letting people release covers of her music if she retains the publishing, which is why Beyoncé's Jolene cover has Dolly as the sole writer even though the lyrics are clearly new. The implication to some would be that Dolly rewrote the song all on her own, but the reality is that Dolly retains publishing for her music regardless of how it is reimagined and Beyoncé respects that. Ironically (to me, anyway) that means whoever did write the cover isn't being credited, which sounds like the opposite of Dolly's intention with the publishing thing, sooooo maybe it was an exposé lol.

I want her to be able to sell out stadiums, for sure. But that is where all the comparison stops for me haha

Confessions Tour is highly praised and considered one of pop music best concerts. Madonna turned 48 during it. And she was still highly creative and energetic on Sticky and Sweet and MDNA. I want Beyoncé to outdo Formation/Renaissance in the coming years, that's for sure.

I was watching the MTV Check On It Making the Video episode and near the end she is in a robe with a bright pink outfit under it that's not in the video, and she's talking about how she doesn't want to reveal it because she wants fans to be surprise (Supriseyoncé!) and I figured she's talking about the pink wig look because that hadn't yet been shown in the episode, but then they cut to it shortly after... which leads me to ask...

does anyone know what that look under the robe is, as that would seem to be the one she's talking about?

I remember in her 2019 interview with Elle UK that she named two rock songs "Hotel California" by The Eagles and "Escape (The Pina Colada Song)" by Rupert Holmes as her go-to Karaoke selections. Interestingly enough Escape is a soft rock and yacht rock record, I can totally see her dabbling into those genres for ACT III.

That's an interesting theory.

I think REN and CC proved that she's not keen on taking one sound and doing it 12+ ways, but experimenting within the many faucets of a genre.
