My mom passed away last week. I know I mentioned her wanting to hear a Beyonce rock album as she has anticipated it for years, and I'm so sad she didn't get to hear it before she passed (if that's wha

charli (love her) announcing a rock album now has the same energy as Drake dropping his take on house music right before Renaissance

It does not. She's been teasing a Lou Reed project for years.

Either way, it makes sense. It's not that people want to get ahead of her. It's just that she ask for "dance songs", "country songs" or "rock songs" and writers pitch them to Beyoncé. If those songs get rejected by her, the writers still want to make money off of them. That's what causes the shift.

Exactly. This + always trying to hit the zeitgeist, so when an absolute A-lister like Bey is about to unleash such a change in pace and genre, the industry automatically also moves in hopes of riding that wave, too.

Maybe my Alexa has brain damage, but any time I ask for a Cowboy Carter song stylized with double ii's, she plays Texas Hold 'Em because she can't compute the double lettering. Obviously, that's why the streams are so low.

I'm losing hope for May.... IDK why, no way she is doing met gala without a true purpose, unless it's something for cecred somehow.

I think we are so used to her only going outside for a reason that we forget she might actually just want to do something.

She could still be releasing and there for media purposes, I just don't think there's no conceivable reason why she'd ever attend if not to promote something. It's not like she released anything or dropped a new product during F1, but she still attended.

Charli's done rock before and she's been wearing Lou Reed t shirts since the beginning of the Brat era and explicitly saying she wanted to make that the sound of next album. Her announcing at the same time we're expecting act iii is a matter of timing. They don't even have the same references for rock music.

Not the same thing as Drake who released a rushed dance project out of the blue. michael

If anyone's trying to leech off Beyoncé that's Lizzo, who cancelled her rock project and then went on to do a Cowboy Carter looking halftime show. rip

you're not wrong about her history with the genre but if you think Charli rushing to tease a second studio album this year, pivoting back to rock, timed perfectly with all the act iii rumors is a coincidence, you're being entirely too naive. that girl is a marketing genius.

Some of you need to relax and chill.

Charli watered down rock music with god awful vocals won't be anywhere what Beyoncé will do and will serve.

Relax and get ready for Beyoncé to deliver like she always does

They can all release 500 rock albums and they still won't come close to what bey will do

And at the end of the day no popstar has the whole GP show up in Costumes/outfits specific for the Era/ Tour .... And im not talking just Stans . True Impact i fear ....

And who won Best Country Album?

As much as I enjoy Kacey's music, I think her presence would've been a hindrance to the theme of the album. Beyoncé featuring the last person to win a country AOTY would feel a bit on-the-nose and perhaps even desperate.

I think Miley and Post (though neither being who I'd have asked her to collab with) made sense as per as they were also non-country artists who "went country", and their presence was a second-hand spotlight of how the industry doesn't have an issue with white artists doing that. And Dolly and Willy are different as they represent the establishment, not someone like Kacey who is a current country darling (though I know as a woman she's had her struggles getting country success, too).

Not to mention, I trust Beyoncé's ear. If they songs were good enough, they'd be on the record.

We don't know what goes on behind closed doors in the music industry but there's a likelihood the girls heard B was releasing a Rock album and all rushed to do the same.
