Will Katy's next album and era do better commercially/critically than 143 or worse?

Will she learn from the backlash of 143 and use better producers, invest in TTH, and try something new? Or will she try hard to reheat TD's nachos again, use the same 2011 type promo, and flop more than 143?

ATRL decides! Is Katy's next era going to smash or pass? Will it at least do better than 143? Or is it going to be the same old, same old?

Generally a pop star continuously declines after their peak is over. Katy was so huge that you can never fully count her out but she's kinda in the xtina category for now.

She'll continue to successfully tour and her catalog will continue to out stream most of her peers when they're between eras.

I can see it performing like Demi's current era. No major backlash this time and far from smashing but pleasing the fans at least. Def flop even more

Probably not.

She's 40, she's flopped too long and has lost an incredible amount of fans and GP support. There's nothing interesting about her anymore. Her vocals aren't too good to just jump to another genre. Perhaps if she tried to go back to her OOTB sound but again she's been too irrelevant too long and is at the age where radio doesn't typically give too much support. Also, TTH cannot just be bought like that. You have to have a relevant brand or at least a viral moment to be considered. I just don't think Katy has it in her anymore.

Katy has become a joke and a meme in the eyes of the GP. The space trip was a whole fiasco that backfired greatly on her. She needs a critical acclaimed era to get the GP back. She needs her "A Star is Born" moment!

I thought it couldn't get worse with Witness and look... I don't have hope for her :sabrina:

Will she learn

We've been asking this since TD and the answer has consistently been NO

Not even the normfags are buying what she's selling these days, so no

Prism was a smash era. Since Witness has been her true decline. 143 was also more controversial and flopped harder than Witness and Smile but I see what you mean sis.

I trust she'll do everything right this time. Don't mess it up, Katy!

I was gonna say it can't get worse than 143... but I said that about Smile so...

I fear she will double down and release another album with Dr. Luke songs :deadbanana2:

Hope so.

With the right choice of music, she will.

Said what you want but she still Katy Perry.

She's pretty much the sentient version of this meme video:

So yes, never count her out indeed :suburban:

It will be better, because I think something more authentic and tripped down is coming. Aka her Joanne.:giraffe:

No way to really tell, but I do know it can't perform any worse.

I was about to say that it can't get any worse but that's what I've been saying for almost a decade now

It just seems like she has completely lost touch with the current music industry and especially with making hits
