Unless the album fails to have legs and performs poorly after release week, I'm not convinced it's anything more than a small chunk of the internet being loud and opinionated. No artist is getting this much attention on their releases, and with that comes a level of disappointment from people who don't like it that may not actually reflect overall sentiment, despite how it can sometimes "feel" that way when it's plastered all over your social media.

It is pretty big. The Swifties will make it seem like it's "just Twitter" or "just social media" but it's actual people and millions of them calling her out for the output. I've seen drags and critiqu

It's going just fine for her. As someone who doesn't use any social media, I've only heard mildly positive to very positive things about the album as a whole, and that's from family, friends, colleagues, etc. I think people forget how little social media reflects everyday opinions held by average, normal people who are not moved to speak out about something like an album and instead just listen to what they like.

This is truth. Most of my favorite albums are filled with critical comments and it makes me enjoy it more as I'm in a minority. As long as the comments are about the actual music. It's fun to have friends that like the same music.

It's getting criticized by many people. It doesn't help that it's now two albums in a row that are terrible—it's a pattern rather than a one-off. It was also advertised as her big return to pop melodies with her former producers and the imagery of her promotion served more mystery and excitement than the actual album did. The album also has nothing to do with being a showgirl but that's the least of her worries

Yes, this is her second dud in a row, third for some people. TTPD took some of the goodwill she had, but Life Of A Tired A*s Showgirl is splurging even more. All of the positive headlines about her tour helped her stay overexposed for the duration of it, but she doesn't have that anymore. Looking at the bigger picture tho it won't be a real problem for her at all, as long as she takes a break and makes sure the next album is good.

She's massive. Therefore the media are afraid of her stans boycotting them and the album will once again be nominated for album of the year.

We all know it's a huge artistic decline though.

If you go on tiktok and filter the biggest posts containing taylor swift all the biggest ones are pannings and draggings of the new album, including from her fans. So I don't think it's a echo chamber.

I've seen people bash her song "Cancelled" and said that she's too grown to be talking about high school, but that's about it.

Most of the haters I see on TikTok are a bunch of trump supporting fatties with bad make up lines and dark roots growing through. I'm not worried about their opinions. Actually it's wild to use two minutes of your life to get online and post a video about how much you hate something for clicks and views. :deadbanana2:Like I've seen some unhinged videos and I'm like girl you don't like it, go play kid rock or some other maga incel and **** off.

This. I think this will be a bigger-ish backlish like that of reputation, where people questioned everything from her selling tactics, to her talent and morals.

But ultimately it doesn't matter, reputation ended up being one of her most beloved records despite the "poor" reception it had back then.

Those who get it, get it, and those who don't, will when it's cool to do so on social media!

Hate has always been there and will always be there for the biggest artist, of course. I just think it's funny how the hate she receives never changes, just the same:

It's definitely the first time she gets this level of backlash imo, this time it's for real.

We've been here before with Reputation, the Lover singles, and the some of the lyrics on TTPD. She'll be fine.
