Charmie, it contains some of her best work.

  • I voted for Glitter bc no review focused on the music of that album at the time. (CB neither, critics were still reflecting on the Glitter movie and everything else, BUT the music).    Glitt

As much as I think Glitter (the soundtrack) deserved better, it's attached to a movie that was incredibly panned and in my opinion that casted a really big shadow all over the album that was impossible to shake off. The soundtrack deserved better but as for the movie... I wouldn't know what to tell you, I personally enjoy it but yeah... :gaycat6: On the other hand, the songs were objectively good and I will die on that hill.

Charmbracelet is a very mellow and personal album and fits the underrated/hidden gem feel better than big success. But at the time the mainstream was very R&B/Hip-Hop focused and I think some songs should have/could have got more love maybe. Glitter's 80s dance/funk sound was hardly riding the waves.

Glitter is vocally outstanding and musically sublime. It deserved a rating of 85 / 100.

It should have gone 2xP in the US and sold 5m copies at the very least.

CB sold 3 million copies and should have also doubled that. Yours and The One should have been singles and given a chance. But she was blacklisted at the time. Despite all that, the album had 4 weeks of sales of over 100k in the US and more surprisingly sold 500k in Japan.

Glitter is CRIMINALLY underrated and HATED for no reason besides her public image at the time.

i love both but I choose Glitter.

coincidence :jonny2: these albums r underrated.

Neither. They performed as deserved.

Charmbracelet is a mess vocally with all the whispering and pitch shifting.

Glitter is just not good.

Glitter has received widespread retrospective acclaim for a reason.

Charm has some career highlights and is a pretty strong album overall, but it could have used editing. The only song that's a vocal mess is Subtle Invitation and TTR is her worst lead single and needed to go.

Glitter as it's literally a discography highlight but just got dragged along with the movie

Charm is kinda underrated too though, several gems on there that don't get enough love

Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. Around the time it released people weren't very fond of it. Even still, many people speak ill of it. I always thought it was a fine album. She definitely deserved better. Me. The Elusive Chanteuse is a close second, for how much I love that album as well.

Out of the two posted, I'll say Glitter.

Glitter. Vocally its her best and also her only concept album.

Glitter was the better album, better vocals, production, features everything! Loverboy also deserved #1. Charmbracelet is good, but I think it did quite fine considering how dull it is in comparison to her other work

I scrolled past this too fast and thought you typed "her only decent album" and I was like :deadbanana2:

OT: Glitter for sure.

Like who would choose this atrocity over anything on Glitter?

Wait, I love this song. It's such a groove.

Glitter is better than Wristband, but Boy and Bringing on the Heartbreak should've smashed

Charmbracelet has "Through the Rain" - a Philippines and Asia classic so that one
