I mean today both would be in the album too cause 20 songs is a standar now, just back in 2019 18 songs feel already too much. They are average as some of the average songs in lover..so what's the difference between average and average?.

i dont rlly trust ur opinions too much from the shenanigans i saw going on in the discog rate thread, but i will say...while i do like ME! more than most swifties (i resent it more as a single than a song), you can tell it was absolutely written to be the lead single, it falls perfectly in line with the WANEGBT/SIO/LWYMMD line of kinda obnoxious statement leads. and in the timelines where its not the lead single, it just doesnt meet the marker to justify keeping it on the album imo

fkjfdkj i didnt mean it that seriously  just that ur taste was personally disagreeable, just from the scores i saw you give out

 

also saying the whole album had a "juvenile" theme bc 1/6 of the songs had that feel is wild fkjfgj esp since "ME!" was on a whole nother level with "spelling is fun" gate and ppl legitimately thinking/wanting it to be a single for a kids movie soundtrack imo theres more on the album thats tonally similar to AOTG/need then there is to ME!, so they have more of a place on it then ME!. i don't see it as the centerpiece or flagship of the album like you do, and im not rlly seeing an argument for it other than you saying its kinda similar to a small handful of other songs on the album in tone
