well exactly, i feel like the "fans don't like TLOAS" take is just that the very folklore-pilled base here don't like it which was always likely, her pop material is often talked down on ATRL. it was a big seller, lots of people clearly did like it, is it her best? no but also, neither was TTPD yet they're both fine if not quite top level taylor records

Well I'm also sorry to inform you I Can Fix Him is more interesting than Fortnight in terms of narrative, in terms of production, in terms of lyrics and in terms of melodies. Fortnight can take the better outro crown though. I mean, even you listen to a version of Fortnight that isn't on the album.

Broken Heart is in the lower end of my entire Taylor ranking because of the chorus (I also hate what Jack is doing to the instrumental during it). I do love the rest of the song, though.

You're telling me that you even know what Aimee, I look in People's Window, Peter, The Albatross even sound like?

Whilst I think Robin, Cassandra, Peter, So High School and even maybe How Did It End (sorry to those of you who like that one) are inessential in the wider canon of her discography I wouldn't call any of them "bad".

Still, TTPD is my favourite album from her and lowkey Fortnight might be in my all time Taylor top 10. Sorry gals.

you have to understand how she truly meant it when she said she's miserable to really appreciate how good is I Can Do It With A Broken Heart

This song has such incredible bridge, one of her very best but the verses are chorus fall completely flat.

Certainly not in this house. Might not be in my cut down ttpd playlists but it's my most played song on the album (after FOTS and IHIH but the point still stands).

Fortnight gives you a full walkthrough of what you'll uncover on the album - it's a doomed love story with no happy ending… it's basically her working through her feelings about that particularly breakup through a fictional story - in so many ways I think it's the perfect opener and works a nice bridge between TTPD and Midnights (in terms of sound)

Also to anyone who's obsessed with melancholic synthpop it just scratches an itch - whew.

Fortnight is my favorite single, my favorite opening, etc. Its certainly a top 10 track in her discography for me. Honestly most of TTPD lands in my top 50. Though Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus is my #1 song in her discography, followed by The Bolter which switches with Maroon as #2 or #3.
