Miley might be my favorite artist at the moment tbh. She's so versatile, her personality is to die for, she's always VERY authentic and none of that pretentious **** that other female popstars do, and

If we don't count Pitchfork that rounds it up to 90 actually :suburban:

the way on paper this looks like such a bomb on all front but it's easily her best and I'm pretty sure most people that listened would agree :toofunny3:

the movie was cute, I lowkey didn't expect it to just be a compilation of music videos with the 1 set per video but she executed it well :clap3:

More to Lose also grew so much, I thought that was the filler before but I like all the songs now

Yep. And Walk Of Fame gagged me too

I lowkey expected a bit more from Walk of Fame  it was good just a bit repetitive

So after a month with this album, the hype has worn off for me. I think my issue is some of the unnecessary long intros/outros on the songs. (Why is GML outro 30 seconds of a noise you can barely hear?) I never skip through parts of a song, so it just kind of dulls the listening experience for me. TBT to when I had Apple Music and could pick the start + end time of the song, good times lol.

And the fact most songs transition into each other makes me not like to listen to the songs out of order. Which is fine for the first 2 weeks, but after that I put all my current fav songs in a playlist on shuffle.

Don't get me wrong, there are some AMAZING songs. But idk, there is just something off with this album that still hasn't clicked with me a month later, which is a little sad for me.

So there's this alleged deluxe edition that needs to drop…

I'm scared the performance of this era might make her take a long break. Which is so unfortunate you can term this album was made for the Grammys & acclaimed.

People at my screening gagged at EOTW, WOF, EGYEL and Reborn as they should :WAP: Every Girl lowkey doing rounds in Latin America now cause of the messy translation of pose to "a presumir" :bibliahh:

The fact the subtitles missed the Beyonce reference :rip:

if i say Golden Burning Sun is her best song then what :jonny:

you'd be right me thinks! it truly sounds like an Angels Like You-type soon to be classic! :jonny: i would love to see it receive the Flowers.m4a it deserves

im so mad at her team for making this era have such a messy rollout, this shouldve been a classic miley era along the likes of bangerz. they really killed all the hype by releasing prelude first and then ran over its dead body with a tractor by releasing something beautiful second :jonny:

Idk, you're kind of right that the initial hype was wasted by releasing the most alternative song on the album but it was a risk to get her new critical attention and it didn't work. Which is fine but I see the logic behind it.

But at the end of the day, the music industry is very different to the model of banking everything on a single moment in time.

Angels Like You was released as a single quite late after the era had pretty much croaked, not doing much and still it has ended up her 3rd biggest song on spotify because of social media in 2023.

If people end up actually hearing songs like Golden Burning Sun, Every Girl You've Ever Loved, Walk of Fame and Reborn at some point then they won't even need to have been hyped because the quality will carry.

There's going to be another chance for these songs when the visuals become online accessible.

Being a Miley stan for so long, one of the things that I've noticed is that she usually starts the production of an album very excited and full of ideas, but in one way or another, she ends up admitting at the end that some of the things didn't turn out exactly as she hoped. I don't necessarily agree with all of her takes and decisions, as I think my girl was a bit unfair to the final production of Plastic Hearts on that Every Single Album interview, but I do understand her vision and respect it.

Listening to her interviews this era, listening to the album and watching the visuals at the theater this last Friday, all I can think is that I'm proud that she gave her all to Something Beautiful and her artistic vision was trusted. The movie was really well directed, but was hurt by the limited budget (something she admitted herself), the rollout for the album was disappointing, and her current lack of interest in her public persona unfortunately may set the tone for the commercial performance of her albums from now on, but she'll always have the fruition of her vision to be proud of.

For longtime Smilers, that Golden Burning Sun - Walk Of Fame - Pretend You're God - Every Girl You've Ever Loved - Reborn sequence feels like something that Miley has tried to do for so long and now was finally able to do it the way she always really wanted.

Why are they pushing the Naomi song as single when WOF is right there :rip:
