……This is incredibly frustrating and disgusting. I wish that this tea would have come out 10 years and we could have done something to protect Sulli (and Hara, and so many more) then.

Since you wanted to be messy earlier, let me remind you that SKZ outdebuted aespa's Whiplash album with an unpromoted MIXTAPE with also less songs :ahh:

Actually, it also outdebuted every aespa project apart from Armageddon, since Armegeddon is a studio album

On one platform, yet Whiplash still outstreamed it on YouTube Music, Melon, Genie, Apple Music, etc. and pulled a higher debut despite less playlisting and promoted tracks. And the real kii? SKZ haven't had a title track that have outstreamed Whiplash since its release, just like they haven't had a comeback outstream Armageddon since its release.

You are just saying anything

It charted for 72 weeks. No SKZ has ever charted for 40 weeks. All that Stationhead time wasted.

Even if SKZ were to enlist in a few years, aespa still wont be able to surpass SKZ in either sales, streams and tour gross or even followers :sabrina:

Aespa already ahead of SKZ in sales, streams AND tour gross at the same point in their careers. The people chose talent.

korean pop music industry needs to change asap if it wants to be taken more seriously on the global stage and more importantly survive

stop treating artists like slaves, stop the constant fansigns, the video calls, the extremely parasocial relationships, debuting extremely underage kids... all of this is cringe and corny and has became way too important compared to the music

fans who consume all of this **** are just as guilty as the companies imo

yes to all of this

there was a time a few years back when it seemed like kpop was actually heading to a direction where the genre would grow and evolve to survive and rival the us pop market, at least when it comes to the quality of its pop music and concepts... but instead it's been slowing down and I know these companies are wondering what's happening when it's all their fault lol

the absurd beauty standards, the lack of concern over their idols overall health, the career ending "scandals" for **** that happened when they were kids, the pressure to be perfect and not show any kind of personality whatsoever, limited artistic input or incentive, robotic live performances without live vocals, no spontaneity... like wow, how shocking that they are unable to break into the us market or anywhere else where these things are seem as cruel and inhumane.

now that the US have new pop girls shining again with good music, talent and personality, and the old superstars like Taylor, Beyoncé and Gaga are still going strong, there's no way it's gonna thrive again, unlike the times when pop was kinda dead and rappers were stomping on everyone else and kpop was a good option for those missing some fun pop music with choreo and nice videos.

anyways, all of this to say that this NJZ thing was actually a good way to change kpop for the better and start a new chapter, maybe repeaking again at some point this decade, but it's clear that the thing the Korean music industry cares most about is having control over kids and not let them any kind of rights so they can do whatever they want with them behind closed doors.

it's sad, but they will pay for it in the long run.

SKZ albums always outstreams aespa albums, sweetie. Armageddon (album) literally has less  daily streams than SKZ's mini album "ATE"

Even if they were to be ahead  at the same point in their careers (which is not true at all) aespa will never be able to touch the career units and profits, gross etc. SKZ has achieved from 2022-present:sabrina:

(Around 12:00)

Not only is "Seven" Jungkook's first solo music video to hit the 500 million mark, but it has also become the first solo debut music video by a male K-pop soloist ever to reach the milestone. Jungkook first released the music video for "Seven" on July 14, 2023 at 1 p.m. KST, meaning that it took just over one year, eight months, and seven days to reach 500 million views.

WTF?

According to Biz Hankook, there was an attempt to illegally seize HYBE stocks worth approximately 8.44 billion KRW (~ 5.7 million USD) owned by BTS member Jungkook.

The perpetrator took advantage of Jungkook;s military service, transferring 33,500 shares of HYBE stock to a new account and selling 500 of them to a third party. The incident occurred on January 6, 2024, while Jungkook was undergoing basic military training after enlisting. The perpetrator allegedly opened three unauthorized securities accounts under Jungkook's name, using them to transfer and sell stocks without his consent.

In total, 33,500 shares of HYBE stock were moved without Jungkook's knowledge. The perpetrator transferred 33,000 shares (valued at 8.316 billion KRW based on the closing price on January 5) to a new securities account under Jungkook's name and sold 500 shares (worth approximately 126 million KRW) to a third party.

In March 2024, Jungkook filed a civil lawsuit against the third party who purchased the 500 shares, demanding their return. In February 2025, the Seoul Western District Court ruled that "there was no valid stock transfer contract, and Jungkook was clearly a victim of identity theft," ordering the third party to return the stocks. The third party argued that they had acquired the shares in good faith (a legal principle protecting buyers who unknowingly purchase stolen goods), but the court rejected this claim. The court ruled that the third party had been negligent for proceeding with the transaction without verifying the stockholder's identity, despite being told the shares belonged to a major shareholder.

At the time, the third party had sent 20,000 USDT in advance to purchase the 500 shares. They initially appealed the ruling but withdrew their appeal in March 2025, making the decision final. However, the real perpetrator who hijacked Jungkook's accounts has yet to be identified. Given that the perpetrator had access to Jungkook's financial accounts, ID, and banking passwords, there is speculation that someone close to him may have been involved. A securities company official commented, "It appears that the perpetrator had full knowledge of Jungkook's financial information. There were also attempts to transfer cash, not just stocks."

Jungkook's agency, BigHit Music, is aware of the situation and is taking action. They stated, " As soon as the company and the artist became aware of this crime, we took immediate measures, including freezing the affected accounts and restoring the original ownership to prevent further damage. In addition to legal action, we have also strengthened security measures related to the artist's personal and device information to prevent recurrence. "

Yes because sadly I don't think anyone sees Chaewon or Yunjin carrying the pre-chorus or background vocals like Lily Carey and Haewon Houston do

Plus Kyujin/Jiwoo's 'rap' lines are barely tolerable tbh, anyone else would absolutely make it worse.

It's still years outdated trap pop music with boring melodies. JYP is creatively bankrupt and no amount of good vocal harmonization will save this from being more than a basic trap pop song that coulda come out any year since 2018. NMIXX always look like theyre wearing other people's clothes like a theater troupe that has no actual artistic identity. It's getting soooo boring. Roller Coaster and Party O Clock were EASILY the best singles they've ever dropped and they actually suited the songs they were singing. No amount of interesting artistic direction, bold video ideas, or attempts at artful choreography will elevate a song like this.

It's always so funny to me when westerners obsess over Asian art and Asian artists and then start trying to pretend that reception and popularity in countries where some of this stuff is mainstream doesn't matter. Racism against east Asians specifically is so normalized that some of you legitimately believe that a qq music stream is intrinsically less meaningful than one on Spotify. It's funny because this is the exact same mindset that keeps locals from tuning in to any of our favs. :bunny:

charting at #96 on the hot 100 for a week is apparently more important that a top 3 smash with longevity in your home country

It's because nobody on ATRL outside of this thread had ever heard of Stray Kids, like we've been telling him and that caused meltdowns. This is also the single way anybody pays attention to his SKZ posts, by attaching them to groups we actually care about. :fan:
