folklore outstreaming Midnights. Why?

Featured Replies

Midnights has been aging like milk left out in the sun. Folklegend is timeless.

well, folklore has to work double time for her NEET sister evermore

folklore is peak Taylor :celestial4:

I enjoyed Midnights and the era, but comparing it to folklore, one can see the quality difference. Don't even get me started on TTPD which is another decline in artistry from her. :noparty:

I always trust she can bounce back, she did release folklorevermore after loser so :clap3:

Well it's her best album and aged like fine wine!

The GP tends to enjoy her weak albums. It will be forgotten in 30 years (minus standalone single CS) while folklore will be remembered as her opus.

:clack:

With the way the world is going, will anyone be alive in 30 years? :clack:

Midnights to be honest kind of sucks from YOYOK onwards...

This might be controversial but I find TTPD significantly more replayable

Quality and talent always prevail in the end. Folklore will outlast all of the Jack produced albums even if they were more successful.

A lot of folklore was produced by Jack though. August, mirrorball, my tears ricochet, this is me trying, illicit affairs, betty and the lakes were all produced by him.

So where are all the other smash folk albums at if the genre is so popular?:chick1:

one has the 1, cardigan, the last great american dynasty, exile, my tears ricochet, mirrorball, seven, august, this is me trying, illicit affairs, invisible string, mad woman, epiphany, betty, peace hoax. the other does not.

I mean Hozier, Vance Joy are still doing quite well on the charts .. at least over there in the states.  probably a lot of other indie/folk artists too.  :gaycat7:

Folklore is an actually well thought out album. Midnights is more of a quick little album to capitalize on the huge momentum she has going on. It feels more like a collection of songs tied together with a shitty theme'

And over time the quick album burns out while the other one keeps going.

When you release high-quality music, it's normal to see fluctuations, with earlier albums occasionally outstreaming newer releases.

She just celebrated the 4 year anniversary of the album & put the cardigan out again. The album's on fans' minds

This is the true reason.

I also think Folklore is among her best albums but if that was the deciding factor it would probably also be above Lover.
