Within Taylor's catalogue, it reminds me most of Reputation. Otherwise, it reminds me of Bad and History by MJ and Born This Way.

People are TERRIFIED to contradict the groupthink. The number of posts that start with some form of "TLOAS is obviously a terrible album but..."

RTF is an all-time Taylor classic. Better days lie ahead for it!

I'm a bit surprised by P0's poor performance on streaming. It seems well-liked by the fanbase.

Me JUST now realizing this extended lyric on ATW10MVTVFTV adds new context to 22. She was so excited to enjoy 22 because she couldn't enjoy her 21st. And 22 is the next song after ATW on the Red tracklist.
- Pitchfork critic hated Taylor's TTPD, now finds it one of her best/most interesting

Tinashe - 'Popstar'
She already has EIGHT albums??? I know everyone here has been trying to make her happen forever but DAMN.

Taylor Swift - "Patient Zero"
It seems all but certaint hat she will try her hand with film. Hiring Emmanuel Lubezki as DP for the Patient Zero video feels akin to her seeking out collaboration with Max Martin earlier in her career. She wanted to learn his craft.
- Billboard ranks Taylor's bonus tracks

The Tortured Poets Department, 2.5 years later. Thoughts?
Taylor Swift's fifth essential album after Fearless, Red, 1989, and Folklore.
- Billboard: yes Madonna, yes AOTY

Let's not hype it up too much. Morgan Wallen will probably break it in a few years. She has more impressive records.- Can we say that Miley has released the video of the year?

I think the numbers actually tell us that Taylor is much more popular now than she was at the time of the Folklore release. I won't claim 10x, but the numbers you selected obscure the real story. Consumption of her music has increased dramatically and consistently since the release of Folklore (and especially since Midnights). The important detail is that the increased consumption is distributed across her vast catalog rather than limited to her most recent release. The only other artist with such uniform consumption across all of their releases is The Beatles. ~65% of all Taylor music consumption has happened since the start of the Eras Tour, which represents only 15% of her career. I mean, she did 50M CSP in one calendar year in 2023 with no new studio album releases, with variants accounting for no more than 2M of that consumption. Just look at the numbers: CSPC (bolded years indicate a studio album release): 2019: 10M 2020: 13M 2021: 14M 2022: 20M 2023: 50M 2024: 40M 2025: 35M 2026: 30M (projected) So we're talking about 10M total consumption in 2019 for a studio album release year pre-Folklore vs. 30M in 2026 with no new album release. To phrase those numbers in a different way: Showgirl alone in 2025 was consumed more than her entire catalog in 2019; and her catalog excluding Showgirl was consumed more than 2x as much in 2025, 2026 as her entire catalog (including new release) in 2019. As far as variants...Billboard hasn't shared much concrete information about the sales breakdown between versions, but the information we do have suggests that the huge growth in first-week sales is not fully explained by variants. First, TTPD and Showgirl are not the first Taylor albums available in variants. In fact, Folklore had more vinyl variants than either TTPD or Showgirl. The difference is that the demand for her variants is much higher now than it was in the past, with all of the limited print runs selling out far in advance of release. Estimations for first-week sales from just the flagship (non-variant) version first week are 250K for Midnights versus 375K for TTPD and 600K for Showgirl. Showgirl flagship likely outsold all versions of Midnights combined first week. The best way to think about the variant inflation argument is: Taylor Swift's first-week sales are substantially boosted by variants. But not: Most copies sold are variants being bought by the same small group of collectors.- Taylor Swift

This is one of the defining qualities of her post-Lover songwriting rebirth. Maroon is possibly the most successful example.- Taylor Swift
Down Bad was the lost hit from TTPD. But even if it had been serviced, it would have been a radio smash rather than a streaming one. TTPD was the true gift to the fans and will be around for many years to come! - Taylor Swift
