Why is Woman's World underperforming?

always has been. Britney dominated in 1998 cause white girls and girls in general loved her. Once she changed to became the new Madonna to appeal only to gay clubs her sales became 1/10. Madonna herself in the 80s was an icon for young women (her full transition to gay icon comes after). Alanis, Shania, Whitney, Mariah, celine, Adele...their success was at peak in certain eras because of women not gays.

I guess you need to resort to gay people once you get older because we consume literally everything, but it shouldn't be like this.

Because there is no artistic development and growth in her music. But still Taylor Swift has even less growth and still manages to manipulate the charts.

  • It's the woman's world that we're lucky to be livin in

    Girl, did you hear it?

She had a moment but that moment has been over for years despite her many attempts to rebrand and try to be commercially successful again. Consumers of music have moved on from her; she is essentially the Ellen of pop in the sense that her brand is not "cool"

Okay but 1M on Spotify and Youtube already is kind of amazing for her

:clack:

No growth, fanbase is not strong anymore, artist doesn't appeal to the genZ or younger gen (Spotify's main demographic), no payola (best promo in the streaming era)

is it? these numbers don't seem bad for her standards and I don't even mean that in a shady way

Were you guys expecting her to smash in 2024 :clack:

Idk if you been on katycats twitter lately but they've been coming for Sabrina, Gaga, Kesha and even Taylor.

Like, what's the point of that? If you look at certain Twitter memes (brat, Padam, etc etc), you'll see that that doesn't make those songs/artists mega successful. It isn't 2016 anymore, indeed. And we're not the dominant force of pop culture. It's the white girls. In fact, they're the ones who discovered and supported people like Sabrina, Olivia or Chappell Roan first.

Read the room, Katy Perry.

I mean It's the same for lady Gaga. The fame Monster was a success cause teen girls young women liked too cause It was catchy and fun and very mainstream appealing. Once She started to go to full gay clubs stuff She lost a female audience. She got again with shallow and all the a star is Born sound and image and infact It's a very very big hit cause even my mother listened to It. Artpop meanwhile... :chick1:

Same for Beyoncé. If you go her concerts especially in the US the audience is very female.

There's no way you ask this question genuinely. Let's be serious for once

even Houdini made like 15M first day.

The problem of youtube nowadays is people then listen on spotify (while years ago they continue to stream a video on youtube to listen to the song) so after the first day or week the views of a video totally die. But in the first days you can still make good views, especially if you invest on making a video with visuals and everything.

What Houdini?

The Boy Is Mine debuted with like 5M views first day.

Everyone expected it to underperform (if it is doing so). I would think that someone with push notifications on Katy's every move would know that.

Because the song is terribly dated, generic and cringe and because Katy is a fad

I posed this same question regarding Megan's album and had my post deleted & got flagged for trolling. Any devs want to explain the difference here?

Because it sounds like a Stupid Love demo and is produced by a rapist! Hope that helps.

OT: Basic production and awful lyrics. It would have sounded better with a proper bridge and outro; it also lacks real instruments which worsens the situation. A pity given the cathy chorus.
