i think the main problem with the song is that it's very surface level… the beat and melodies are good, but this and her last record are very superficial lyrics-wise. it's like she wants to be relatable so bad to the point where she enters the studio with the intention to write lyrics everyone can project onto, but it actually gives the opposite effect where there's no storyline, nor a strong anchor in narration, so you're left with very vague and blurry songs that feel like background music… she had a relationship and a daughter with that man for 7 years, I can't believe the only thing that came out of all that anger is « I gave and I gave now I'm giving up »…
