Taylor is the main character of music

Nnn if OTHs started charging rent for her permanent residence in their heads her billionaire status would be wiped in an instant :ryan3:

Because there is no artistic development and growth in her music. But still Taylor Swift has even less growth and still manages to manipulate the charts.

  • It's the woman's world that we're lucky to be livin in

I used a vpn so my view wouldn't count

Oh vpns reduce streaming numbers now? I know you think in your mind you did something with all those threads but Katy was going to flop either way.

Not sure what was expected of Katy Perry though? She's turning 40 this year. VERY few female popstars have a successful career post 40 :rip:

How do you guys says it's underperforming if we haven't even gotten the 1st day streams! It's doing amazing

The song sucks. The lyrics are cringe and production goes nowhere.

The video is hypersexualized to the point its almost gross but it's also not sexy at the same time. And clearly being pitched to GP men but it's…a woman's anthem. Make it make sense.

the song is also basic, shallow and childish even for her standards

we've already had hundreds of better female empowerment songs in the past :michael:

I did actually think this - like who is all this sexiness for? Straight men aren't tuning in. The gays do love a female popstar serving c*nt tho. We were BEGGING for this at "Birthday" era but alas

But the gays need a good song lmao

Katy hasn't had a hit in over a decade. I don't know why people expected WW to become a hit.

Terrible song but didn't it just come out :deadbanana2:

can we wait like a day or 2

Her announcement went mega viral on Twitter and ATRL has told everyone that Twitter = GP, so I'm really shocked at these results. :clack:

Because we know the truth…..

The song already dead before arrival, leave her desperate ass alone, we will support her next single if not produced by dr luke. s:wan:

It's crazy how out of touch she was with this single. This is not how women want to be empowered. This new generation of women don't want empowerment anthems anymore. It's cringe. People like music they can feel emotional to.

this is exactly it

did anyone genuinely believe Katy would slay the charts? She is a 40 year old woman singing basic pop songs with terrible cringe lyrics. It was kinda fun when we were younger back OOTB, TD and PRISM eras (though in retrospect Roar is one of the worst songs of all time), but I honestly believe people realised how terrible of a pop act she is and gen-z probably saw her as cringe from the start - outside of nostalgia there's 0 reason for Katy Perry to be a factor in pop music in 2024

and people coming for Taylor - at twice younger age Taylor was writing songs like Enchanted, Sparks Fly, Last Kiss, Long Live, All too Well, State of Grace etc etc. Sure ME! was even worse than Katy's cringe but the artistic level is absolutely different here. The reason Taylor has a fanbase is that she actually has a  discography worth staining for she wrote herself - Katy has Dr. Luke produced singles and nothing else

It's been out for a few hours. Aren't there mods on here ? How is this thread still open ? :rip:
