I hope she knows even with this amount of negativity there are people who are loving her and her music. I like how this album is just so much optimistic and full of joy and love. My very often depressed soul smiles during this album so she nailed her message 

I decided to give this a listen and..... how are some of you enjoying this? 

 

The production: Stale, bland and worst of all boring. Luke is a lot of things (that's another story), but when did he get so bad? His stuff with Doja earlier in the decade is quite good. He's behind arguably the most impactful pop song of the 2020s (Say So). Where's that on here? This has all been done before and been done better

 

The lyrics: Katy has never been a good consistent songwriter, but she's had flashes of greatness. Those flashes are burnt out here. The lyrics are putrid. The melodies are uninteresting. This is Katy at her lowest lyrically 

 

Overall: This is the worst pop album of the year and arguably the worst of the decade by any major label pop girl. What a dumpster fire

Crush is a standout.

Just heard No Tears for New Years and why is it better than almost all the tracks on the standard version?

I like the production of No More Tears For New Years more than anything on the standard album. If it had better lyrics it'd easily be a good song

I gave it a brief listen during my ride and im confused as to why people don't like and are bashing this album??

True. I honestly don't get how/why some songs are called "dated." It doesn't sound that different from current music.
