I'm tired of the hate train against Katy. Why do people keep picking on her? It's so unfair....... Even though her so-called friends drove her into becoming a rape victim and gossiped about her b

There is no personality in any of these tracks. Sounds like an AI album

a step down from Witness and Smile, what a disgusting attempt at an album

This album sounds soooo dated. All of the songs sound like bonus remix tracks with really bad production from the late 90s.

Been listening to several of her interviews this era, and I just feel so bad that the final product doesn't reflect the soul of love and famine divine she wanted to get across

i know you meant feminine but this is sending me

Nirvana and Artificial are amazing. Almost done with the album

This album is like… AI. It's lifeless and uninspired. The songs aren't even bad.. they're just uncanny.

I don't know. It's pretty bad even if it doesn't sound too bad. Idk if I've ever felt that way about a MPG album :deadbanana:

EDIT: Oh, but the transitions are FLAWLESS. She ate that one little thing.

Crush, Nirvana, Artificial might be the trinity. There's something about that Gimme Gimme bass though that's just filthy so idk

The album combines 90s eurobeat, 2000s analog electro (think Michael Gray) and 2010s edm themed (Avicii & SHM), so it is gonna sound dated. It is a retro dance album.

the trinity is All The Love, Truth & Artificial sorry!

Luke stuff aside, this is such a disappointing moment for me as a former fan. She's always been laughed at and seen as a generally bad artist with mediocre discography, but I've always been able to find so much fun and joy in her music, her albums were always total pop ear candies with insane replay value. But this.. has nothing. I can't get through a single song in full, there is always something completely off. Most of the material sounds so unfinished, the structuring is not thought out at all, the vocals should be re-recorded, cause they lack any depth or purpose. No catchy melodies, no slick production choices. It's just terrible all around, I don't get how nobody in her circle thought that this is simply levels below anything she's ever put out.

People always **** on Witness, but that album was full of passion. The songs were colorful, sonically interesting, the only thing genuinely bringing some of them down was goofy lyricism (and maybe poor pacing). But everything else had a spark that 143 just lacks..

The lyrics are serving ChapGPT realness. Artificial is the best song, the rest are beyond generic/forgettable.

I'm His, He's Mine

Crush

All the Love

Artificial

Truth

Wonder

Would've been a cute lil EP of mindless pop throwbacks. No need for the rest, toss 'em :grill:

There is no song on this album as good as this I'm afraid…

I will be bopping to I'm His, He's Mine and Nirvana though…

About to start my fourth listen with my Sony 1000s. Let's see if I can raise or lower the 3/10 I awarded it earlier.

Why are people being so extra about being disappointed and it sounding like AI, I swear everyone just throws that word around now whenever they don't like something. It's a fine dance-pop album.

As one who liked Katy more post-prism, I really enjoy 143. It's not perfect and a little short - and WW was kind of a mistake, but besides that - it has some really great, fun songs.

What is happening here is the narrative has already been written and the picture has been painted across the internet well before the album was released - people were saying the album was going to sound souless and lifeless before they even heard it, so now everyone is just parroting all that, unable to let go of their preconceived notions of the album during their listen.

I think it'll be more appreciated when there's been some distance from this era.

Loving the second half of the album especially - all the love, nirvana, artifical & truth.

What an interesting development. ATRLers wants to give Witness it's flowers, when as recent of a month ago ATRLers were calling Witness, one of the worst albums produced by an MPG. Why the Sudden Change of Heart I Wonder?

I just can't believe they made "women's world" the lead lmao why why why
