The transitions are great, it's a shame most of the songs suck. 
 

Smile was so great because it told a story, and you could follow her journey even if the songs were simple pop. 
 

This is just generic pop with no depth. The lyrics feel like she didn't even try or she just sang the lyrics Luke had as placeholder. 
 

The "deeper" songs are so shallow with generic phrases that don't mean anything. 
 

And Luke repeats the exact same formula for every track, Woman's World actually felt like the only song that was unique. 
 

She didn't try with this, I don't care what anyone sales. She pushed out an album so she could tour, and that was it. You could tell with Smile she had a story to tell and was all over it.

Okay, unpopular opinion but this is my favorite Lp by Katy. I was never a fan besides a few singles but I like this album! A cute 7.5/10 for me, maybe 8 /10. The only major skip for me is woman's world. 
 

my top 3 are Nirvana, Crush, and  I'm his, He's Mine. 
 

i will purchase the LP with my favorite cover~

most of Smile was written by her experience but 143 was written by her imagination i fear

I really do enjoy this album, but it is giving a bit of a contractual requirement/extra content for a tour (which not complaining! I need another concert more almost as much as I need another album) I think she just wanted to make a bunch of songs that were fun and catchy (and short enough to catch on on tik tok/rack up streams) and if one sticks, then she gets another hit.
