I had no idea this was out already, I had October in mind for whatever reason.

Can't wait to listen to it later today!

I'm tired of the hate train against Katy. Why do people keep picking on her? It's so unfair....... Even though her so-called friends drove her into becoming a rape victim and gossiped about her b

It's not a terrible album, it's just boring and predictable. It has some nice jams. Wonder and All the Love are solid bops, Artificial is kind of cool (even if it has some of the most cringe worthy lyrics I have ever heard from her), Lifetimes is still nice. IHHM is a bop and a half.

The only thing I keep thinking of is I do not understand what is driving her at the moment. With all her past successes, WHY does she feel the need to prove herself as the Teenage Dream chanteuse in this day and age? Live that "I'm so happy where I am with my family" thing you keep preaching and just make some music that feels genuine and honest.

With this album it just feels like she doesn't actually like making songs anymore. They don't seem to excite her, given that she doesn't even try to elevate the songs with a bridge, ad-libs or ANYTHING. Or maybe Dr. Puke and his team convinced her that lifeless, one-note, monotonous 2 minute productions are what people want these days. It makes complete sense that Kim Petras is on here.

Hopefully some remixers can make good versions out of the songs that are lacking.

obviously it s not her best album .

but she is serving bops .

GORGEOUS , LIFETIMES , CRUSH  are my fav

I'm starting believing 143 is on par with Witness, take this as a compliment of course:flame:

Ok so this album is 3,5/10 at best :rip:

The only tracks that I actually quite enjoyed are I'm His He's Mine and Wonder... maybe All the Love too.

Artificial has really good pre-chorus but rest of the song :gaycat6:

Gimme Gimme and Gorgeous are one of her weakest songs.

There is no song on this album as good as this I'm afraid…

I will be bopping to I'm His, He's Mine and Nirvana though…

teary eyes is my fav off smile and nirvana is currently my fav off 143 :monkey:

but artificial and truth are catching up. these 3 alone can keep me as katycat for at least another 4 years

Wonder is a career highlight. It surpasses Smile - that one didn't even feel like a Katy album but a bunch of demos for other artists.

Why even bothered with whatever the sad soul roaches have to say when she delivers fun dance pop song to vibe king?

OT: Gimme Gimme you're the lead that got away.

I know you feel it
Can you believe it?
I'm gonna love @Mirrorcle 'til the end
And then repeat it

I'm literally obsessed with Artificial, it's something so new and strong! It debuts directly on my favorite songs from her:clap3:

okay its not awful .. but none did stuck out.  I did like All The Love & Artificial

I enjoy it overall and would give it a cute 6~7/10, there're many melodies with potentials but ruined by the productions that all of them sound like unfinished dated demos. :deadbanana4:

There are dozens of producers out there who can literally give her the same or even better beats and productions, yet she chose Dr.Luke at the cost of tainting her reputation. :rip:

Wonder and Lifetimes are the only songs I liked. I just gave it a quick listen but it all just blends together and has no big standouts imo. Maybe it would grow on me with more listens but I'm not supporting a album produced by Luke in 2024. Smile at least had some standout songs on first listen.... This album did nothing for me.

indeed i dont get her . she is sabotaging herself or what :D

My top3 from the album:

All The Love

Wonder

Lifetimes

I'm His He's Mine

Wonder is the best song on the album just like Daisies was on Smile.

Daisy Bloom = Acclaim.

Surprised?

I get it, it does feel a little like punching down. It's not a complete ear-sore of an album, it's just kind of an easy target and… kinda boring. Like, if I don't laugh I'd potentially fall asleep. 😂

But if I'm being perfectly honest and fair, I did like 2 songs enough to listen again, so there's that. ;p

Happy to hear that, I guess lol

How do you feel about secrets within, red flag and front towards enemy btw?

Better than 143? I personally loved them.

The singles should've been:

1. IHHM

2. CRUSH

3. LIFETIMES

Sonically the album is good, it's fun, it's bright, it's joyful. Even in the slower rhythmic tracks, you could still move to the beat. And I like how cohesive it sounds and the way the songs seamlessly flow into each other.
The only gripe I have is with the lyrics because most of them feel very chatgpt'd and the only one that kinda felt like "Katy" was Wonder. The lyrics make it seem like this album could be sung by anybody. Even Smile had its moments of "Katy's personality" that felt missing here.
But all in all, a perfectly concise album to bop to but it's not 'personal' or 'relatable' or 'substantially pov specific' by any means, so it's not for anyone looking for the latter.

My faves at initial listen are: Crush, All The Love, I'm His He's Mine, Artificial, Lifetimes, Truth.

I think we should accepted it as part of Katy's experimenting. I believe Artificial it's the perfect example of the merge between Katy's personality and something totally new, that's why I consider it the best song on 143, it represents in a strong beautiful way the vision of the album.

The best song on the album is the one without Dr. Luke attached  what is he doing? This album sounds the same until Wonder, a career highlight.

Katy sounds kinda uninspired until that song. I wish they would've played with her voice more, this album is begging for some vocoder tricks.

Idk. I have to listen again, only gave it a quick listen.

Where is the personality she is showing in her interview in the actual music?

Also @28:20 in the interview :bibliahh:

wow this album is one bland mess. based on the visuals (which are no doubt the best thing about this era) I expected dance bangers in the vein of When I'm Gone, but it's mostly basic trap beats? it works for Gorgeous even though it sounds like Kim Petras feat. Katy Perry. this is not the kind of album you should release after a 4 years gap.
