I was just listening to this album today. A classic.

No I said Olivia and Charli are (on what planet would I ever claim Sza as white passing? lol) I addressed everyone else in my previous comment. Here it is: Karol G - She's a bigger name in the Latino community and we all know it hence she barely has two top 10 hits. Go ask the average to name a list of popstars they will say Billie, Olivia, Sabrina, Chappel etc. The average person will not name Karol G. Sza gets lumped into R&B even by the Grammys, Doechii hasn't had a hit since Anxiety. So then it's what - Doja (who also hasn't had a Top 10 for a while) and Pinkpantheress? That's nothing compared to the level of domination we saw from Rihanna, Beyoncé, Janet, Whitney, even Nicki. The current pop scene is MUCH less diverse compared to the early and mid 2000's. I honestly don't even know how that's up for debate.

It's not devising reasons…they ARE white passing…the term focuses on how people see you, not how you see yourself. Nothing about their appearance/music reads as "non-white" and yes that matters when marketing to a majority white consumer base. And it matters when we are talking about diversity within pop girls. Janet, Whitney, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Karol G (due to accent/spoken language) etc read as unambiguously non-white to the majority of the country. That you can argue that we have just as much diversity in pop girls now as 10 or 20 years ago is insane. It's just not true.

Olivia - her main inspiration is Taylor and she makes the same singer songwriter confessional music as any other white pop girl. Her music and persona is read as white by other white people. The average person wouldn't know she's less than half Filipina from her music or appearance. Different Religion is definitely the highlight of the album. Orbit is also a great a ballad. I also liked Redlights and Snow. Not a huge fan, but Let's Get Married should have been the lead. It sounds more in the vein of what's popular on the charts right now.

I'm making my way through Mylene Farmer's discography....am I crazy for thinking Anamorphosée is better than Innamoramento? Anamorphosée is amazing and basically a no skip for me.

Well i'm not a gay man but for me its simple - I like Addison's music better. I was going to completely dismiss her but I surprisingly really liked her album. Great production and Aquamarine, Times Like These, High Fashion are still in rotation for me. Tate's music sounds a bit bland to me. Don't really care about charts, numbers, or what the GP prefers so her popularity is irrelevant to me.

Solid album. My faves were: kiss Me, oh well, big feelings, freak, bad thing (bunny hop) Production is immaculate if you listen with good headphones.

I actually really like it! Card Declined, I'm Afraid, Yeah (I actually really like this one lol), Persona, No One Lasts Forever are better than the singles to me. I also really like the b-sides Playboy Bunny and Take Away the Music
