Is Cowboy Carter a masterpiece?

Featured Replies

Alright ladies, now that this has been out a month I have begun to hear the term masterpiece thrown around quite a bit.

While it might not be as big as another certain album within suburbia and Middle America, would you agree that it will stand the test of time?

Please don't be messy in the replies

  • No.   A reviewer here wrote: "listen, i can tell you a thing about this album. She covered 2 old songs of 50 years ago. In 50 years from now no one will cover a song of this album".

    Is beyonce knowles?

Yes. It's her magnum opus IMO. Which is saying something, because Lemonade, Self Titled, and Renaissance are all excellent.

It's already one of my favorite albums of all time. I enjoyed it on my first listen, but there was so much to take in from the album that I wasn't sure what I would make of it upon future listens, but it gets better and better the more I listen to it.

I'm afraid so, this will be a legendary trilogy and regarded as her best work... until B10. :suburban:

Renaissance is better though as a cohesive body of work, NO SKIPS. :eli:

It's an excellent album, could be shorter, but that's just the long album hater in me.

No, it's a good album though. Renaissance is a certified masterpiece though. Sounds way more effortlessly pleasing to the ears.

Something about her vocals on this album just doesnt sit right with me. Like I feel uneasy while all of her vocals from DC days to Rennie were all great to me. I feel like her tone doesnt suit country well?

I agree. But I really liked her voice in Daddy Lessons and Cowboy Carter doesn't have any of that

Yeah true. Maybe it's her delivery on this particular album, not the genre since I also liked Daddy Lessons.
