Madonna, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Adele, and Mariah Carey are some of the biggest female artists of all time. Which 3rd album by these ladies comes out as the winner in terms of commercial success? Rank and discuss

True Blue, 25 and Music Box were all massive.

True Blue is easily the best album on the list.

True Blue is Madonna's biggest era. It hasn't reached the heights of Music Box though and Adele's 25 is similar in overall sales but its record-breaking first week did showcase that it's got an edge on True Blue.

It's a hard question. I voted for Adele's 25 but I'd say it's closer to a tie for all three.

The real answer is Shania Twain’s Come On Over. But a close 2nd is Adele.

Yeah the biggest was either True Blue, Music Box, or 25 depending on how you look at it, and my favorites are SN and probably Music Box

ARTPOP being in the same category as all those massive SMASHES :rip:

anyways True Blue. 37 years later and Papa Don’t Preach, Open Your Heart, and La Isla Bonita are still remembered hits.

When's the last time it's sales were updated? True Blue also has alot of records it still holds after all these years and was the first to achieve things for a female artist. Also Immaculate Collection is her biggest era at least in my opinon.

Legends that grew or maintained their success with their 3rd album then there’s artpop…

ot: 25/speak now

True Blue has so many songs that I would consider pop perfection

As much as I love them, putting "ARTPOP" and "Speak Now" over Shania Twain's "Come On Over" and Janet Jackson's "Control" was... a choice, especially given this thread is focusing on commercial success.

I'd say "True Blue" was the most successful on a worldwide scale, with honourable mention to "Music Box" (shame about "Dreamlover" being criminally slept on these days). "25" had impressive sales and "Hello" broke several records, but the other singles were sadly overshadowed by it despite also achieving solid success.

A case could be made for both "Good Girl Gone Bad" and "I Am...Sasha Fierce" as honourable mentions as well. "Umbrella" consolidated Rihanna as a force to be reckoned with while "Disturbia" held up as a major modern Halloween staple, while Beyoncé really had one of the best videos of all time with "Single Ladies", not to mention "Halo" becoming one of the first pre-2010s songs by a female artist to reach 1B streams on Spotify.

True Blue and it's without question

Upon release, the album was well received by critics, who complimented Madonna's vocals and musical growth. It was an immediate global success, reaching number one in a record-breaking 28 countries across the world. With over 25 million copies sold worldwide, True Blue is the best-selling album of 1986, the best-selling of the 1980s by a female artist, and one of the best-selling albums of all time.

Personally, I enjoy ISAF the most from all these albums.

The biggest: True Blue then 25 and Music Box.

Fave: Speak Now then True Blue and GGGB.

Isn’t Born This Way seen as Gaga’s third…? Coming from an OG stan who’s been on here since 2010 that’s always how I’ve seen it at least? It still wouldn’t be the biggest ofc. But I feel like Artpop is one of the main ones referenced when people talk about “fourth album curse”

anyway yeah I’m gonna say True Blue, though 25 is close as well

Shania Twain's 'Come on over' is the biggest third album by a female artist. No contest here although Music Box, True Blue, and 25 were also HUGE. Voted for Music Box.

based on commercial success, 25=true blue=music box> gggb> iasf> speak now>>>>>>>>>artpop
