  1. That could be discussed when talking about her outfits and image. But even post-Joanne she has stuck by the LGBTQ+ community.
  2. It's not. They do more but this week was like this and country isn't a super popular genre in France.
  3. It's not that people are used to devour things quickly. Because people still spend time and long hours on Netflix and YouTube. It's that the music video goes hand-in-hand with a song. In countries where people are poorer, music videos are still the go-to format because they can be listened to/watched for free via YouTube but in other countries where people already pay for Spotify, for example, watching the video once is enough whereas before the 1 billion views were people re-listening to the song and not necessarily for the video itself. I have been at many parties in the past where YouTube was being played but since streaming took off no one is playing music off of YouTube anymore so the platform and its music videos are losing a lot of views that way.
  4. This has nothing to do with Gaga. A greatest hits tour will draw more people. Therefore Midnights would've had less interest. People knew about the different eras and it was promoted as such. A regular tour is promoted as part of an album/one era. You lost.
  5. Ok but none of her songs released post-2016 had any significant success on streaming and even her streams were mocked. She wasn't factually a big streaming force until she started coming back with Renaissance. It was even discussed by the Beyhive on how that album put her on the map in the streaming era.
  6. What I expected pressing play on your song: What I got after pressing play on your song:
  7. Not the point. It was presented as a greatest hits tour (which you initially claimed it wasn't) and you thinking Midnights alone would've brought that many people to her shows, especially casual listeners is enough to give us all a nice lil' look at how you probably shouldn't be advised on anything.
  8. No one said that. You said that. Do you think that? Because saying she's done more for the LGBTQ+ community is fair and she has done more for the LGBTQ+ community than most people.
  9. Is spreading misinformation your talent? People knew very well what the Eras Tour was well before the tickets went on sale as even Taylor explained that it was a greatest hits tour: So a pure Midnights tour would probably have done less. Much less at that.
  10. I'm thinking it could very easy to figure that one out. Warner Bros. is a jewish company and she has a contract with them since she's starring in their next movie.
  11. Maybe SNL should hire Azealia as one of their writers because that quote by Lily sounds like parody.
  12. And would a Beyoncé Greatest Hits tour gross more than the Renaissance tour? Discuss and keep it cute.
  13. - Beyoncé (changing the international release date of music, popularizing surprise releases) - Lady Gaga (popularizing fandom names, impact on LGBTQ+ community) - Taylor Swift (artists owning rights to their masters) - Rihanna (younger pop girls' vocals imitating hers, make-up venture) Vote, discuss, digest and keep it cute.
  14. Being part of the LGBTQ+ community, is hating on Lady Gaga fair? You don't have to like her music but the woman has done more for your community than most of you will ever do whether it be via releasing an unapologetically gay song that yells out lyrics like "no matter straight, gay or bi, transgender..." at a time when it was unheard of it the mainstream or her still on-going foundation. So are you a hypocrite for hating on someone like her?
  15. Ok but then The Gift wasn't a big success and neither was Black Is King. She wasn't a big streaming force for a while and now she's a big streaming force.
  16. I've seen TikTok being compared to MTV based on setting trends and making songs become smash hits but Spotify basically has everything MTV had: 1. Heavy Rotation on MTV (being played every hour or two) is the equivalent of Spotify plastering your song on every major playlist. 2. Big events being sponsored by MTV along with having journalists and VJ's interview acts is the equivalent of Spotify doing interviews and sponsoring big events. 3. MTV doing massive promo and several specials on the day a big act released music vs. Spotify doing special things for some big acts when they release new music (short clips of them talking about each song and other things) 4. Discovering a new video or song you would've never heard of had you not watched MTV vs. discovering a new song or act by Spotify presenting it to you via their "recommended for you" type of playlists. 5. There was a local MTV in every country and there is a local Spotify in every country. NOTE: Spotify is different from iTunes since the latter was almost 100% demand while the former still dictates what makes a playlist or the Top 50 charts via algorithm and playlist placements. What do you think?
  17. You'd think J.Lo because she has the hate and zero album sales. JT has hate but at least he was able to go Top 5 with his last album and his tour is doing big numbers. So I'd say J.Lo a bit more. I voted for JT because the hate towards him is angrier and deeper than the hate for J.Lo.
  18. I don't get this "narrative kill". She was NOT a streaming juggernaut because she lacked a good album released in the streaming era. Now she has two and therefore has become a streaming force. Even the Beyhive has talked about how and why she became successful in streaming these past two years. So no one was proven wrong because ATRL was right before: she was streaming poison but has since become a streaming force.
  19. 21 was not only a monster in terms of commercial success. It was a monster in terms of commercial success because it was considered a great album as well. And while Lemonade is iconic in its own right and was also a commercially successful release, 21 is the album of the century and that alone makes it more iconic.
  20. If Beyoncé has proven anything at all it's that bombing/flopping with a project like The Gift and that Jay-Z album back-to-back and being called over means absolutely NOTHING when you release a good album and have a following. And that's where Gaga's at. She's still got a big following that supports her and if she releases anything that connects to the GP she'll have another successful album again. People have got to be blind to not see it as it has been proven with the likes of Cher or Beyoncé that there are certain acts that just won't be held down for too long. Back to the main topic, no simply because Gaga's overall career sales are still bigger and she's got the bigger tour grosses. That combined with her many accolades and pop culture presence Ariana has not surpassed Gaga in any shape or form. And she doesn't have to because she's perfectly fine with her consistent hit eras.
  21. I don't know why anyone would downvote this comment. She could but she didn't as she is consistently trying to set the bar up and that's why she's looked upon as a legend.
  22. Yes. No doubt about that. Every era since 2013 is innovative in a way.
  23. No. But people are using this as an excuse or as validation that you should not vote for him in the coming election so it's about pointing out how the whole government is pro-Isreal and therefore using this as a reason to NOT vote for him but for Trump is just stupid. And ignorant. If you're against genocide don't vote at all.
