I dont like the hysteria around christmas. people hoarding expensive food and gifts, getting all these decorations, dressing extremely formal etc. i just like a chill day with family and playing games

It’s a much-needed reprieve and it’s also such a magical time of year.

Halloween>>>>>>>>

But Christmas is nice when you have a loving family ( blood or chosen) and a good mood.

Only thing about Christmas as I get older it becomes less and less important ( especially when you start spending more on gifts and getting less gifts in the process)

No, it's the only time I get to be reunited with my entire family since we live far away from each other so no, I love it.

I love seeing beautiful Christmas lights everywhere but it also reminds me about how lonely i am (my family is **** so i distanced from them), friends are living in another country. I'm okay with being alone on holidays just Christmas doesn't hit you anymore

Most definitely. It just gets worse, more consumerist, and less festive every year. At least there are a few good Christmas horror movies and comedies.

Nope I love it. I celebrate every year with my family and friends. My family always goes all out on Christmas decorations and gift giving. Plus it’s always nice too meet new family members like wives/husbands/ kids. We have a rule that we only gift give to family who are underage. Anyone else is all up to the individual and responsible  to give each other. This is our way to not over spend and we left away a huge burden/weight off people shoulders none of the adults expect gift from each other. For example my sister only gifts her husband and the little kids that’s it. I hope one day we can all go on a trip somewhere and pitch in as a group to take a winter family vacation somewhere like London or Tahoe for Xmas.

Yes. I hate the two last weeks of the year because of all this performative happiness. I know it's time to celebrate and be thankful but I just can't enjoy it. These are the days I'd rather be alone and just enjoy some peace & quiet.

yes i dont need to see ny family that much and woukd preffer to rest

At least for me, the „magic“ of Christmas is still alive.

-The house gets cleaned top to bottom and everyone in the family helps

- The festive Christmas lights and decoration in the house and on the street is very warm and welcoming

- All the close family members together

- The food is top tier delivered from a fine restaurant

- Watching footage of old Christmas gatherings and telling the stories we remember

- Christmas music on the radio

-Lots of presents for everyone

- No politics or all the other bad news crap allowed during conversation

It will end, the family leaves, the decoration will be taken off, the music on the radio will change, food will be mid again. But for now let me enjoy this time for a moment.

No, it's my favorite time of the year. I guess Christmas can depend on how you celebrate it but Filipino Christmases are absolutely perfect. :foxaylove:
